My blog--I pull a card--if it doesn't speak to me...perhaps it is for you?

Temperance

I have been out of blogville for a while. Spend too much time on Facebook. I pulled the Temperance card for my friend Sharon's birthday. Temperance means balance and beauty---tempering the emotions---living a life of balance. I'm certainly trying to do that. Working my 32 hrs a week most weeks. Not wishing for more than that. Living simply and frugally. Certainly no more management positions for me. I want time to meditate and pray, time to spend with my friens, my husband, my grandchildren. I refuse to take a job that expects me to work 60 hrs or more a week. David has taken early social security and is working a part-time job that he is happy with. I can only hope our finances will stay in order. I wish I had been thriftier and more frugal earlier in life, and perhaps made some better choices. But, hindsight is everthing...and now there is only going forward.

Gulatri Glacier, the source of the Ganges
is only reached by walking.
My hobbled knees won't go there.
Nor will I go to the waters at Lourdes
or Glastonbury well, or walk the labyrinth at Chartres.
But I will drift here, in warm Gulf waters
watching the Perseids
waiting for manatees
working and praying.

Blessings!
