Good-bye Daylight Savings Time
Jamál (Beauty), 4 Qudrat (Power), 167 BE – Saturday, November 6, 2010 about 9:30 PM Pacific Time
At 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 7, daylight savings time ends. Time falls back, I set my clocks back, and for the next three or four days wonder why the day is passing so slowly. It takes me about four days to reacclimatize my time sense. I always think it’s later in the day. Eventually I get used to the way time passes. My time sense returns to normal or as near normal as it ever gets, I get the daily schedule straightened out until spring when time jumps forward.
Twice a year, daylight savings time manages to screw up my time sense. The time I save earns no interest, if I save time at all. I’m not sure any time is saved. I don’t get any younger because time falls back in autumn. I don’t get any older or gain more wisdom when time jumps forward in spring. The only thing daylight savings time accomplishes is to screw up my sense of time for a few days.
Sunday 2 A.M.
Good-bye daylight savings time
See you in the spring
