The Continuing Saga of Prosperous Snow |
Jamál (Beauty), 1 Masá’il (Questions), 167 BE – Sunday, December 12, 2010 about 4:33 PM Pacific Time Mom took her first Namenda tablet this evening. She is now taking two Alzheimer’s medications Namenda and Galantamine. On Monday, December 6, the doctor added two Namenda 10 MG Tablets a day (one in the morning and one in the evening). In addition, he increased the Galantamine to 24 MG. The Galantamine cost $6.00 for a month’s supply and the Namenda cost $35.00. I was able to scrape together enough to get the Galantamine and Namenda today, but there are still six prescriptions waiting at Walgreens for me to pick up tomorrow. I’m expecting my brother to wire me some money tomorrow, so I should be able to get the rest then. In addition to the meds, I think I’m going to have to buy Mom a windup alarm clock. Mom used to have one, but it broke so naturally I threw it away. My mistake was throwing the broken alarm clock away before buying her a new clock. Of course, the alarm clock isn’t the only thing I’ve had to throw away lately, but it’s the one Mom has had the most difficulty with up to this point. |
