Day 43
ME:

Yes, I'm still writing! Averaging more than a page per day in my journal. Wrote a bunch of poems in Spanish. Sent out some postcards (sent one to Noe's son, Mal). Need to just sit down and write some more. Today is a "day off" from traveling. More than 7 hours on the bus yesterday.

The bottom line? Johnny in Perez is a dear. Young with anxiety... but dear and a professional masseur. In Perez I joined the group of writers last Friday and hope to visit them next week. I am seriously thinking of renting a place in Perez next time. It has most of what I want in a place.

Did visit Marlene in Sabalito again and learned more about the culture. Also visited Golfito where I misplaced money (lost, stolen... whatever). Hot, steamy is NOT my first choice. Did meet Mario Gonzalez who has a place in Drake... Rancho Corcovado (mentioned in guide books). I have met many good people; but, I have to be wary. There are cultural differences that create problems.

At El Tranquilo again. Slept in the TV room ($8) as there was nowhere else available. Today? A lower bunk in Room 7 ($10). This place is really worth staying at. Good backpackers too (most...). The Belgians just invited me to eat couscous.

Maybe I'll catch up on blogging when I come back to Montana snow and drear? Hope so. *Bigsmile*
