When I Do Good

When I do good,
I hear choirs of angel singing
accompanied by the music of the spheres,
boldly charge into battle
confronting the gorgon of my fears,
and walk through the gate of paradise
to pluck the fruit of the Tree of Life.

When I do bad,
I curl into a fetal ball
hiding in the womb of my distress,
or flee through the labyrinth
from the minotaur of my sins.
