My Cell Phone dictates my choice of cloths
30-Day blogging challenge Day 17: July 17, 2011 ~ Prompt: Pick Any (1) “ARE YOU A SKIRT OR A PANTS PERSON?” (2) HOW HOT IS IT WHERE YOU LIVE?” (3) “HAS ONLINE RESEARCH CHANGED?”

A skirt has its advantages
except when its so short
that you reveal “France”
when you bend down
to pick up litter off the ground.

When I leave the house, I prefer ankle length skirts or dresses. When I stay home, I want pants with pockets in them. The reason for this is my cell phone. At home, I can put the phone in my pocket so I do not have to carry my purse. When I go out, I put my cell phone in my purse; this way I cannot get to the phone while I am driving.

When I am driving, I want the phone to be as difficult to get to as possible. This way I am not tempted to answer it when it rings. However, when I am home I need to reach the phone easily, so I put it in the pocket of whichever pair of pants I am wearing.

I remember the following poem from either high school or grade school.

I see London,
I see France,
I see someone’s underpants.

Of course, when I went to grade school and to high school, girls wore dresses or skirts and the boys wore pants. That was a long time ago in a couple of small towns far away.
