The Continuing Saga of Prosperous Snow |
Istiqlál (Independence), 10 Qawl (Speech), 168 BE – Thursday, December 1, 2011 about 7:10 PM Pacific Time It is Thursday, December 01, 2011 and winter has finally come to Las Vegas. Today there were high wind warnings for the Las Vegas Valley and winter storm warning in the mountains. It snowed on Mount Charleston and the Highway Patrol asked drivers without chains to go turned back down the mountain. The temperature in Las Vegas was around 52 or 53 degrees. The wind blew all day and the sky overcast with a chance of rain. I hung clothes on the line anyway. I can now use my washing machine and I am behind on the laundry, so I cannot let a few clouds or drops of rain prevent me from washing cloth. It would be nice if I had an electric dryer, but since the only way to dry my clothes is to hang them out then I will hang them on the line. It did not rain in my neighborhood, so the clothes dried. It took them all day, but they did get dry. I have more clothes to wash tomorrow, therefore, I am going to stay home and see if I can catch up wash Mom’s clothes anyway. I did wash a couple of my sweaters, but only because I may need them. I will try to finish washing Mom’s clothes tomorrow and then I can concentrate on the bed linen or my clothes this weekend. I never go anywhere on Saturday or Sunday. I can hear Mom crying, so I will post this and investigate the problem. |
