Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

I have internet and more importantly ...
... I have a place to live!

ME:

I should be able to be on the internet daily except when traveling.

So... I stressed out over getting this place. The cost (reasonable), the location (25 minute walk to market), the ...

Well, let's say I made the deposit and first month's rent. Rent will be due January 15th and February 15th if I chose to stay longer. I will consider staying a year BUT that means paying for two places. Combined that's about $620/month. Can I do it? Plenty of time to decide. Also, I suspect I could just do it for a year or so and change my mind.

This place includes: laundry, television, sofa, chair, wireless, water (light/electricity is extra ...about $10/month we are guessing). It is a one-bedroom furnished apt. with living room, kitchen, bath (hot water!). It has a/c but I don't like a/c; it gets a good breeze as it's on a hillside overlooking the lights of the city to the green hills on the other side. It has a balcony facing south-east, in other words, the dawn. The garden below has rabo-de-gato a plant favored by hummingbirds. I've seen chirincocas, pavo (turkey), sargento (black and red bird) as well as others as agricultural areas are close.

It's a 25 minute walk up from the market; about 20 minutes down. It's about 3 blocks from the local bus. It costs about $3 to take a taxi from the center.

So today I bought sheets and a pillow. I bought some food. I'll need a few other things too for cleaning. I even bought toilet paper! (Which may sound odd to you-all but in Montana I live in a building with shared toilet/shower/bath where the toilet paper is furnished.)

I called my mother today on Skype. So... I'll be doing more of that. Also have a Costa Rican phone number: (506) 8543 8906.

So I'm in San Isidro de Perez Zeledon, barrio La Pradera. (No address though; ticos use p.o. boxes.)

I might get used to living here.

And I might actually like it once it stops raining! Today was 3 downpours too many. Unusual for this time of year.

So much to consider... and plenty of time to do it in. *Smile*
