Consumerism
...someday I need to write a blog about consumerism and how I am and am not a part of that.

Me:

But first ...all about ME!

Not much to say. Blah-blah-black sheep (I haven't seen any for awhile ...like since Derbyshire)

I work on various things to keep me busy. I manage. Today I washed clothes, swept, mopped. Wrote a couple 'poems' (or whatever). I took a walk into town and brought bread and ate a pinto.

Town was d.e.a.d. Tomorrow will be deader. Neighborhood is very quiet.

Took pictures of a turkey (chacalaca) in the lemon tree with her chick. Te other birds have visited the banana I put out. The bugs are becoming annoying. All life returns with the rain. Just a few drops today. Fourth day in a row. Maybe 'winter' is starting... one can only hope.

Just ate a sandwich with white-cheese and miel de chiverre. Interesting... tomorrow... fish!

Now about consumerism... I'm not a good consumer. I don't buy garbage bags; I recycle grocery bags. I walk; I don't take a taxi. I buy second hand instead of new. The economy cannot be stimulated by my actions and non-actions. I need to write an essay about this. Like how I couldn't do what I do if I had a one-bedroom apt., cable/internet, a car... What I do is a choice ...and not the worse one. Others, however, have different situations and make other choices.

The trick in writing an essay will be in making it clear but not preachy. Wish me luck...
