Quiet Friday
ME:

Other than visiting Johnny I didn't do much.

Sure... I mopped up after the first rain and cooked a fish sandwich ...well two. I was hungry.

Only six flowers in bloom today but like life there are cycles to be expected and ...hopefully ...respected.

I am trying to blog daily. I'm trying to study Norwegian daily. Done with Chapter 1.

I move from one task to the other.

Wrote Gary a postcard. Tempted to call a friend in Montana in spite of the hour. I know it's been snowing there. But ...I'll wait till tomorrow.

Just got done watching "The Queen" with Helen Mirren. Nicely done. Does put into perspective how in time everything changes around us. How we must change as well or become irrelevant. Nasty message for us "mature" folk.

I wrote in my journal, page 3,006:

"Good Friday" = the country shuts down. Today should be quieter than yesterday. Birdsong, dogbark, a distant truckgroan. The sun and clouds are quiet too.

8:28 and the sun is too high in the sky to enter the balcony doors. In a climate of few surprises (no tornados, blizzards...) where temps vary little day by day and not much day/night (about 20ºF here in the semi-highlands, less in the lowlands) the subtle differences become noticeable.

So another days winds down to its end. Slowly. Quietly.
