Funny?
Day 10 of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge

A third of the way through, and Funny Friday has rolled around again.

"Tell us about someone in your life, or someone else's life, who uses metaphors in an extreme manner. For example: An old Aunt used to always say "You're in the right church, but the wrong pew", if you were looking for something and were close to finding it."

Funny?

Hardly. Clichés are so common that the overused become boring. Bane of the existence of a writer, trite metaphors are just as bad.

They become as useless as adjectives. Like black. Like white. Like black hats versus white hats. Why not grey berets versus floral floppy hats with price tags?

No... I can be funny. But not on demand.

Plus I suffer from CRS ...as in "can't remember s***". Aunt Hoo?

I do record funny things people say, but the startling things amuse me not the mundane.

So... today's prompt is a good one. Not just one I can use at the moment. For me, it's like writing about my summer vacation when I've gone nowhere and done nothing or going to the dentist (all angst no cavities).
