My Life as a Dog (Mitt liv som hund)
August 17, 2012; Tell us your favourite funny scene in a movie or TV show!

There is a scene in My Life as a Dog where old man Fransson who is always mending the roof of his house is found taking his yearly bath in the mostly-frozen-over river! He's dragged out of the water with the entire community watching and taken to the glass-works where they wrap him up and warm him up by the furnaces. Hilarious but heart-warming.

Another is when 12 year old Ingemar falls through the skylight trying to get a glimpse of local bombshell, Berit, who is posing nude for an artist. The smile on his face while she doctors him is precious.

The movie works the emotions from sad to funny to sad. It shows life in rural Småland, Sweden, near where my family came from.

I commented on Cindy's blog: "Laughter is good but many funny shows just annoy me. I prefer amusing moments in serious programs and movies. I was raised on "I Love Lucy" but modern day slapstick ...especially movie-length Adam Sandler style ...juvenile, moronic.... ... turns me off ...I'm outta there!"
