Doing nothing in Dota

Apparently I wasn't clear ... what I meant last entry was whether I can TRAVEL for three months at a time. Obviously, I can. What isn't obvious is whether I should... very tiring for this old man.

Me:

I bought my Coopedota shirt. I needed something for Queen's Day in Holland. Cost me around $11 (¢5.600).

I've decided to spend a winding-down-day here in Santa María de Dota. Today is the fiesta patronal (think small-town fair today, horse-parade tomorrow...). It's a high-altitude coffee growing area.

Smells of coffee cherries (the fruit). The smokestack indicates they are roasting as well.

Life is ... serendipitous at times. No room at Cabinas Dota last night when I arrived! So doña Julia and her daughter Laura sent me to their neighbor, doña Deyanira (Barrantes). Very nice room. Nice bed, nice TV (got to see two episodes of "Once Upon a Time"), nice shower. Dota is cool at night so I slept well.

Ate well too. The small restaurant, Soda de la Familia, has good food ...and cheap.

I'm sitting in the library using the internet to catch up. Later I'll stroll through town. Doing "nothing" today as I'll be back on the road tomorrow, most likely to San José. That'll give me 3-4 days for a couple side trips. Tuesday night is off-to-bed-early to be ready for a morning flight on Wednesday. I'll arrive Wednesday night at midnight with Nick picking me up at the airport. I'm blessed. Hope to hit the sack by 1 a.m. and see friends Thursday at the library. We'll see.

But today ...relaxing in Dota. Smelling the coffee.
