The March 28, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum" is The Easter Bunny wants to know: what is it that motivates you in your life? According to dictionary.com there are three definitions of motivation1 which are 1. the act or an instance of motivating, or providing with a reason to act in a certain way: 2. the state or condition of being motivated: 3. something that motivates; inducement; incentive: Synonyms used in conjunction with the first definition are inspiration, inducement, impetus, motive, and cause, so motivation has material, spiritual, financial, and physical factors. This explains why different things motivate me on different days and at different times in my life. however, after contemplating this all night and saying my morning prayers, I have come to the conclusion that there is one overriding motivation in my life. The tests and difficulties I encounter everyday of my life motivate me. They push me to go beyond the limits of my fear, negativity, and pain of my mundane existence to discover my true self. These tests and difficulties push me to discover what I am truly capable of accomplishing. Without these tests and difficulties the mirror of my soul would remain unpolished and my talents undeveloped. Along with those two things is prayer and meditation because without those I would not be able to function on a daily basis. These are my motivations tests, difficulties, prayer, and meditation. Through these things my soul is polished and I pass beyond the limitations of the possible. Thought of the Day: "The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible." - Arthur C. Clarke Footnotes |
