Somewhere it is Tuesday, October 1, 2013
Somewhere it is Tuesday, October 1, 2013; however, here in Las Vegas it is still Monday, September 30, 2013. It is about 9:15 PM Pacific Daylight Time. I am sitting at my computer composing the first entry to Welcome to My Weird Life for the unofficial "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS and considering the possibility that my other computer is haunted. All right, there are probably some very logical explanations for why it acts like it is haunted. It is an old computer, so part of the problem may be its age. I use that computer for composing items in MS word, or at least I did until last week.

I am using my new computer, which is somewhat of an inconvenience since I cannot download anything to this computer. My new computer is new because I purchased it last year, several months before Mom died. It is one of those senior computers and I cannot save anything to a hard drive because everything is stored elsewhere. I can store things on a "thumb drive" (I cannot think of the technical term for the little drives that are about the size of a person's thumb). Anyway as I wrote, I used the other computer to compose MS Word documents until I realized that it takes too much time to move from one computer to the other. This meas that everything I write must be stored in "the cloud", on writing.com, or one of my off site blogs.

For the next two or three months, I will compose my stories and poems on writing.com and store them here. The only time I will work on the other computer is when I check my bank account and download the bank statements. I get aggravated because the other computer slows down at inconvenient times. I cannot afford to get upset or aggravated at the computer until after November 30, because I suspect that being pissed off at the computer contributes to writer's block. I have enough things in my life to encourage writer's block without being angry with my computer.

Somewhere it is Tuesday, October 1, 2013
and the beginning of "October Novel Prep Challenge
and my self-talk
is trying to bring me down.

Somewhere it is Tuesday, October 1, 2013,
but I live in Las Vegas
so it is still Monday, September 30
here in Nevada,
where my self-talk
is trying to infect me with
a bad case of writer's block.

There is one good thing about not being able to use MS Word to compose my stories or poetry. I have to watch my grammar closer when I do not use MS Word because Word had a grammar checker. I think I may have to find an online grammar checker or download my finished product to word to check the grammar. The disadvantage to using a grammar checker is that it makes me lazy about checking my grammar.
