BCOF Prompt

Since today is a free day, I've decided to write about my progress on my New Year's Resolutions.

1. To lose 40 pounds by April 27.

Well, I've only been able to lose 7 pounds. However, I will be boosting my exercising starting Monday and I've stopped eating red meat as of Feb 6. I'm hoping this will help my metabolism.

2. To read 100 books by Dec 31st.

This has been going slower than I participated. I've read five books, and over halfway finished with Out of Oz by Gregory Macguire, Fallen Hearts by VC Andrews, and The Store by Bentley Little. I'm also 3/4 of the way finished with a Nathaniel Hawthorne short story collection. Most likely by the end of this week, I will have read 8 or 9 books total.

3. To have my novel edited by March 1st.

This might be possible since I've already edited chapters 1-30. I have 15 more chapters to go. If I don't get it done by March 1st, I should have it done by April 1st.

4. To start sending query letters, synopsis, sample chapters, ect. to agents by October 31 2014.

If I can get a new laptop with Microsoft Word in the next couple of months, I should be able to do this.

The Soundtrack of Your Life

I guess I'm on small Lana Del Ray kick! This song I'm about to share is called Summertime Sadness. Y'all really need to watch the video! It is beautiful and sad at the same time. I also noticed how much she looks like a young Ann Margret . There's another woman in the video who looks like a young June Lockhart. Therefore, I totally love this video.

News In My World!

My novel editing project has taken off again, between yesterday and today, I've edited chapters 25-30.

I'm going to tell y'all something about this novel that I haven't really mentioned before. I get rather emotional over it because my Dad helped me come up with the idea, created a few of the characters, and helped me with research about the Old West. I think my Dad always wanted to be a writer too. He used to make up these stories about a species of red aliens who lived in Arizona and a species of blue aliens who lived in New Mexico. Well, they were rivals and would go to the Arizona/New Mexico border every night to fight (he made them sound like the Hatfields and McCoys). Dad would tell me that the red ones were bad, and the blue ones were good. He also made up stories about the blue ones helping truckers out by telling them when/were cops and the DOT would we around.

Bye for now!
