A Day of Hiking - Day 2
30 Day Blogging Challenge - Day 2 (late entry)

For August 2015.

Brrrr, it is a refreshing 39 degrees in Yellowstone this morning. Thank you for stoking the fire and getting coffee ready this morning, Brother Nature (Joel) What a gorgeous full moon we had on our first night there. Everyday, there will be 2 parts so you know, one actually about camping and the other is an activity plus I will be seeking volunteers for chores just add in your blog your contribution for the day.

2. Should you drink the water as is from the stream? Clean your supplies in the lake or stream? Why or Why not? Are there risks?

I am thinking a stream is better. The water has a chance to flow and move. I am thinking the stream vegetation does a good job of purification, but I still think it is a good idea to have a little purifying canister and pills - at least for the drinking water - I read about that in the book, Wild by Cheryl Strayed (an excellent read, by the way). For the dishes, I don't see it as so important if we are boiling the water first.

We are going hiking on Mount Washburn trail today. Does anyone know what it is noted for by some chance? What are you hoping to see? Who did you buddy up with today, remember the buddy system we never wander off or go anywhere alone.
And what are we eating today???? Don't forget to interact with your fellow campers!

I love a hike. But, umm this is 'prime grizzly bear area' it says to travel with caution!!! Talk about starting us off in a challenging spot.... but I would be up for it. I think I'd want two buddies and can we all stay pretty close together. That way our noise may keep them away. The bears are more like in September and October so we may be okay.

As for buddies, there are so many I would love to hang with - having read over some blogs, I would love to hang with skeason - but I may laugh too much and not get much walking done... but who cares we'd have a grreat time. ANN Counselor, Lesbian & Happy would be a fun buddy as well. If we all went together the bears would steer clear of our laughing.

This is a pretty strenuous climb but the views are worth it I hear.

Apparently, we can see big horn sheep and wildflowers. We are told to stay on the trail as the ground breaking could expose us to some pretty hot water - and I mean that literally.

Something tells me I am glad I missed this day. Did you all make it?
