" Yajna "

" Yajna " is the well documented divine ritualism as enjoined in the Vedas.

The traditional yajna has four components

1. The diety invoked to whom the oblations are offered

2. The fire in which the offerings are poured

3. The material things that constitute the offerings and ,

4. The individual who is performing the yajna.

To a person like Arjuna who is constantly engaged in his duties as a warrior, the Lord offers an " alternative " which yields the blessings of a fire yajna.

Lord says, one who has cut himself free from all attachments, with his mind well balanced having offered hearing and other senses as sacrifice in the fire of restraint is performing yajna too.

Whatever work he performs, is done in the spirit of yajna. In short a self dedicated activity performed in a spirit of service to many, performed without ego and not motivated by one's ego centric desires, fall under the category of yajna....
