Vision of The Future

I looked into the future
Beyond the turmoil of our time
I saw the planet united
And humanity a single species.

The "Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for Day 1372
Write about a time you felt betrayed.

A time I felt betrayed. I know I was betrayed, but I have to bear part of the responsibility because I ignored my gut feeling that told me not to get involved with the man. When a person gets involved with an addict, it doesn't matter if the addiction is to drugs, alcohol or something else, that person can expect to be betrayed at sometime in the relationship. The reason for this is that the addict cares only about the thing he or she is addicted to and not anyone else in his or her life.

Betrayal is a broken sail
flapping in deception's gall.
