Friday Gratitude List and poem

Istiqlál (Independence), 10 Kamál (Perfection) 175 B.E. - Friday, August 10, 2018

"Intone, O My servant, the verses of God that have been received by thee, as intoned by them who have drawn nigh unto Him, that the sweetness of thy melody may kindle thine own soul, and attract the hearts of all men. Whoso reciteth, in the privacy of his chamber, the verses revealed by God, the scattering angels of the Almighty shall scatter abroad the fragrance of the words uttered by his mouth, and shall cause the heart of every righteous man to throb. Though he may, at first, remain unaware of its effect, yet the virtue of the grace vouchsafed unto him must needs sooner or later exercise its influence upon his soul. Thus have the mysteries of the Revelation of God been decreed by virtue of the Will of Him Who is the Source of power and wisdom."

Looking back over the week, since Saturday, August 4, I found that I have posted four times to Poet 999 - A Butterfly Emerges From Her Cocoon  . That is four days out of six, once I compose and post today's poem that will make it five days out of seven. That is good! I attempt to post a poem that I have either written sometime in the last few years or a new poem I have written. Lately I have composed poems inspired by the Baha'i Scriptures, so today's poem will be about prayer. Once I post the poem on that blog, I post a link on Facebook. I have posted the poems in this journal, but not the link to the blog. That changes today when I finish the poem and post it on the Poet 999 blog.

Prayer  

Prayer transforms
the individual's soul and mind.

In the tranquility
of your abode
intone the prayers
revealed by the Glory of God,
while feeling the Holy Spirit
flowing through the words.

Gratitude List for 10 Kamál

Today I am thankful...
          ...for freshly boiled black coffee for breakfast.
          ...for the bottles of cold water I have in the fridge because it is going to be a hot day.
          ...that I changed my pharmacy from Smith's Food & Drug Store to the Humana mail order pharmacy because I can get most of my prescriptions though the mail without it costing me anything.
          ...that 2,814,851 GPs in my Gift Points account.
          ...for the raspberry GoGurt I had for desert tonight.
