Love my kids

Got a closer look at being an empty-nester this weekend. It is a strange feeling but not as sad as I had expected. The best part is that no one is hitting me up for food or money every 5 minutes. My house has stayed relatively clean, no dirty plates or glasses within eye shot. My husband and I watched a program of our choosing. The drama level in the house was minimal. The dirty sock balls have vanished. My mowed yard looks free of long haired lines missed by the teenager. The outdoor little boy smell that lingered in the house that I had blamed on the dogs has mysteriously disappeared. My grocery bill for the weekend is considerably smaller. I might just be able to get used to this phenomenon.
