Day 8

Being the youngest in the family and the only girl, I was rather spoiled and didn’t find the need to be secretive or naughty very often. However I had a passion for reading and used to sneak off with a book to get out of doing chores. We lived semi rurally so there was always somewhere to hide away down in the orchard where I could truly say I hadn’t heard anyone calling for me.
At night when I was supposed to be asleep I would read into the early hours. Only sometimes would my mother catch me and confiscate my precious reading matter.
