Lost things
PROMPT September 15th

Have you picked up any new hobbies or interests since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March?

In short, absolutely nothing, I’ve lost a few things, such as my weekly singing group. I don’t think we’ll get that back either until we have a vaccine. Apparently singing is the best way to spread diseases. You only have to watch a singer closely and you’ll see the spray of saliva.
Fortunately all the things I love, like writing, visiting WdC daily and walking my dog haven’t been affected. I lost my chance to go to the UK to visit my family. I can’t see that happening either in the near to distant future. Things are getting bad again in England and we can’t travel out of Western Australia because it’s so difficult to get back in. There is limit to how many Western Australians wishing to return from overseas each week can come in. It’s about 500. Then they need to quarantine in a hotel for two weeks when they get here at their own expense of $3000. So, no, I can’t see me leaving here. Western Australia is isolated from the rest of the country, were the only state with no community spread of the virus. Our premier is paranoid. We had a person who tried to sneak over the border to avoid quarantine and they got jailed for six months. Another person who snuck out of their quarantine hotel now has to wear an electronic tracking device!
