I had the most amazing experience with a honey bee. I was sitting outside when I was still in Jersey. A honey bee was flitting around my strawberry plants and I was waiting to water the plant after the bee moved. It finally did and when I began watering it came back and flew in and out of the spray. When I stopped it landed on my hand with the hose in it. I didn't dare move. For those few seconds I felt the bees energy. The wings were like a soft caress.
I don't know if it was the same bee that visited again when I watered but the bee was never afraid of me.

Watching the monsoon from indoors must be some experience! Coffee and a good book is always a nice choice. I like rain and sunshine, both in bearable doses, however.

Don't worry about a prayer limit, there isn't one. We could say a thousand prayers a day for a year and still not reach a prayer limit. God's mercy is unlimited and so is the amount of prayers we say.

Awww! Northeast Spring! Lucky you!

You took me back to 30 plus years ago, plus the five senses...
Everything seemed to come alive after the cold winters, there.

And yes, I used to love autumn, too. We don't have that array of colors when the leaves are changing here in down south, at all. I think I miss northern autumns more than its springs.

I've worked with a lot of men over the years, I found they appreciated me being open about what I knew and what I didn't.

Lemon meringue and key lime were my grammy's specialty. I never mastered making them myself. I agree with your hubby about Maine blueberries, they're the best. I'm prejudice about blueberries, I'm a Mainer or as we call ourselves Mainacs.

I had a hard time to figure out what intimidates me, also, and I could only point a finger to myself.
Working with men has its good points, I think. Mostly, anyway. In my dealings with men, I found out that they appreciated it when I told the truth instead of faking any know-how.

The love between a mother and child is phenomenal. A gift that never stops giving and receiving.

My friend was born on leap year in 1956. She celebrates more on the 28th but when it's a leap year, she has two birthday celebrations with different cakes and friends. She says it's a double dose of joy.

White Lies for Harmony

PROMPT November 13th
In what circumstances do you believe it is okay to fib or tell a white lie?

As much as I would not make a habit of it, sometimes telling a fib or white is necessary to preserve harmony in life. Like the morning my almost 10 year old woke up with her first pimple, prominently protruding in the center of her forehead. I calmly assured her that, "no you do not look like a unicorn," and "it's not that noticeable", tried my best to dab on some concealer and blend over her aggressive blemish. She went to school a little less anxious and it was worth my minor deceptions.

I tend to lend toward "white lies of omission" more than anything else. For example, I conveniently sometimes forget how much the new blanket for horse costs or that I committed to supporting my sister in one venture or another. It is largely an avoidance technique for warding off another circular argument? Yes. Is it likely the reason I've managed to stay married for over 12 years? Also, yes.

The truth is, when I met my husband I was open and brutally honest about my past, my quirks and my limitations, and there was A LOT to unpack there. Over the years, we've managed to build a life around some pretty ticket items that might be obstacles for many couples. Our truths for each other are what have managed to keep us together through tougher times. A little fib here or there to keep the peace, isn't going to have much effect on our marital scoreboard. Sometimes it is better to tell him that the haircut he did himself for free, does absolutely look as good as the one he typically pays $30.00 for at the barber. Sometimes its easier to get through the workday if he tells me, "that my ass doesn't look at all fat in my pants."

Such is life....
