This is my very first blog on here and it comes on a day that I just spent with my whole family on my mother's side. This family gathering was a new experiance only because my fiance met the rest of the clan tday. I think she was a little bit nervous even though she did meet most of them a few months ago. As I knew it would be, my family was their usual comical but comforting way and my fiance felt very at ease even though the small house incubated us all like sardines. Fitting over thirty people in a house that only had four fairly small rooms, the largest being not more than 8x10 in size, was definately a feat but we all had a great time. All in all it was a good day for everyone. The holidays are great for bringing family together. Some of my closest relatives as we were growing up, I haven't seeld come together. Yes it's not Christmas yet but it was the best time to get everyone in one place at one time. After the get together was diminishing and people started to filter out, we went to our friend's house and played Pekeno which was really fun with eight people playing. The game wet to almost midnight when we came home and got the kids settled in. I asked my fiance if she had a great day and was satisfied to hear that she had a good day. Now here I am writing about it and even know I feel good and am smiling that holiday smile. I love getting together with family. |
