It's kind of like writing in your morning pages or your journal Take 10 minutes to write a stream of thoughts. Try to write constantly during the 10 minute period and do not edit as you write.

Journal, journal where have you been.
I've been looking for you for months, nowadays I more often than not use the clickety clackety keyboard to write down my stuff. Here in the WdC, out there in the world beyond my screen, and a lot of the times at work. But I still remember the tales I did weave, the days of reflection, during my journey without a vehicle. The Lord's provision was in there to be sure.
The gift of running has since taken me from 2 miles, to the latest journey of a mile a day for a week, and just finished up 3/20 with having to miss only one day out of the 6 days that the mileage and time are recorded. Learning things along the way and talking about them at #Stevejogging and #StevejoggingforJesus on the Facebook site.
Here now on the twenty-first unloading my mind and thoughts on the keyboard and wondering if I can still write for ten minutes without stopping and have a coherent piece of writing coming out of it. A lot of the stories and poems I've written in the past were just that, sitting down with pen in hand and just talking to the Lord about the day. The suddenly a poem or story takes shape in the midst of the writing. That still happens and am thankful for when it does, but mostly it's been by prompts on the WdC that gets the juices flowing. Speaking of juices, I have a wellness coaching call today to talk about my progress with diabetes and the success or failure of monthly goals set in the previous conversation. Last month it was setting the goal of eating a healthy snack at work prior to my lunch instead of . . . .
Times up, and to finish the thought I did achieve the goal of eating healthy snacks this month and I do have an A1C test that I have to take today or tomorrow. Praying for 5.9 or less, to be officially pre-diabetic or at least lower than my last A1C test.
Thanks for the challenge and later on the www.

DAY 1577: March 11, 2017

Prompt: It's looking and sounding like spring in Las Vegas. The birds are singing and building their nest in almost every tree in town. What are some of the first signs of spring where you live? If you live in a part of the world that is experiencing autumn. What are some of the first signs of autumn?

For me, Spring has sprung when I see the tree limbs budding for another year of leaves.
That's happening now here in Arlington, Tx. A place that has been home since 2004.
The squirrels are more active and Missy is having a blast treeing them and following them from tree to tree.
The time change is literally days away and everyone loses an hours worth of sleep.
Spring has sprung.
People and animals are coming out of hibernation.
Round after round of blowing wind, followed by rain.
It's looking a lot like a new season.
New life and new hope is in the air.
Green is the grass, the trees, and the stores hocking Easter ware.

Spring is here and ready or not, the countdown to the next season is already under way. March winds bring April showers, April showers bring May flowers, May flowers bring June brides, etc, etc.

Prompt: What do you do before bed at night? Do you have a set routine? Do you think a routine or pattern relaxes you before sleep? What do you think of at night when you're trying to fall asleep?

Well night for me is morning, afternoon and evening because I work overnight.
I do have a routine. When I get home I know I'm going to walk the dog the first thing. That is my cool down period after a long night at work.
Then I get to the computer to work on my games on Facebook, and take my first medication of the day. Nexium wannabe and 30 minutes later I eat something so I can take my next two medications for Diabetes. Then I have a sweet treat because I took my needed medication to battle Type 2 Diabetes.
That's just snippet of the first hour our so when I get home from work.
Then I take my first nap, mainly because I've already fallen asleep at the computer multiple times and one of the medications makes me even sleepier. I do think that it helps me relax and get ready for sleep. Like a clock wound tightly is now winding down and is soon in need of rewinding.
I think of my beloved Rhonda and our dog missy, asking the Lord to cover them while I am in lala land. Then at 2:30 walk # 2 for Missy and a run afterwards weather permitting and I feel physically able to do so.

Later in the day beloved!

DAY 1574: March 8, 2017

Prompt: March 8 is International Women's Day. The theme this year is "Be Bold For Change" https://www.internationalwomensday.com/. Write a story, poem, or something about women or a woman being expressing this theme. Or write your opinion about this theme.

I've been wondering, has there ever been a "national men's day"?

Sure I get that people who are exceptionally impactful in the world and their personal lives deserve recognition. I mean I just learned that the first woman to become a U.S. Marine blazed the trail for future female Marines and I'm impressed by that accomplishment. I myself endeavored to get into the Marines, but unfortunately was 4Fd because of the multiple times I broke my left arm as a toddler and teenager. I was devastated and ever since I started writing determined to support the troops in any way I can.

The theme "Be Bold For Change", lends itself to being applicable to men as well. There are just as many women and men who are passionate and willing to put a huge effort forward, in order to make a needed change or set an example to encourage others to go further.

So taking nothing away from the marvelous impact so many women have had on our world, let's remember the men who have changed lives as well. Maybe one day we will have an International Peoples Day and honor those who have taken great strides to improve the lives of others as well as themselves. Be they female or male; let their accolades rain down.
You are beloved!

DAY 1572: March 6, 2017

Prompt: March Winds

This is a day late but Neva had a good prompt so here goes.

Yesterday; March 6, 2017 brought some strong winds and they lasted all day.
This morning, 3/7/17, that strong wind brought in an extra cold day compared to yesterday's warm but blustery days temperature.
March seems to bring out the "madness" in the weather and on the Basketball court as well. Can't seem to get past this truth.
The Lord has created the seasons, and mankind has come up with some silly things to match them with.

March winds bring April showers,
April showers bring May flowers,
May flowers bring June brides,
June brides bring what?

For now we are in the March winds and we'll have to be prepared. That may include taking along a sweater, t-shirt, jacket, or a plethora of other attire to accommodate the madness that is brought in with the March winds. Hey the good news is winter is done and Spring is already blooming up the trees and plants anew.

See you,

Prompt: Let's talk about vestigial parts. If you could remove some parts of yourself and leave them behind, which parts would you detach? Emotions, body parts or pieces of your history?

W
hat you leave behind makes you less.
Happenings, that bump on your nose, that tear you shed for a lost bird.
All of this added up becomes the sum of what you are today; unique.
There will never be another person like you, me, etcetera.
So I reverse this and ask, what's there to leave behind or change?

True, a few less moles on you face might be okay to shed.
Or perhaps you can look at others in a more hopeful light.

Changes you make now will inevitably change you from who you were.
How will that help or hinder your forward progress?
Are people going to see you in a different way if you change your attire?
New beginnings; like the calendar year; are only means of measuring.
Good, bad, happy, or sad, who knows the effect a change will have?
Even the things that need to be left behind have had a hand in shaping you.

What's To Change? What's to leave behind? What's too much change and too much adding on, for that matter? Whatever you decide to leave behind, please consider wisely and remember that what you are today is unique and that's not that bad after all beloved.
