Day to day stuff....a memoir without order.

Imagination is described by Webster as...The act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses in reality. Albert Einstein said "Logic will get you from A to B, but imagination will take you everywhere."

I never realized it until I read it somewhere but there are ways to boost one's imagination:

Create a visual journal
Draw whatever you see for 15 minutes a day. You don't need to be an artist.

Think like an artist
Cut out pictures from magazines & piece them together to create an original image.

Listen to Bach
Close your eyes while playing your favorite music. Or listen to the sounds of nature on a CD or in the great outdoors.

Play word games
Try thinking of as many words as you can that begin with MAR...or you pick.

Daydream
Let your mind wander, or focus on a single object & study its characteristics.

Everyone has a story....here's mine.....c

Medicare may get more expensive and provide less if the new House gets its way.

My wife uses CVS mail order or some company that belongs to CVS that does their mail order.

I loved penmanship once I got good at it. I still write like that 10 year old who spent a summer practicing. I can do calligraphy if I'm given room to improvise.

I had a banana for breakfast... along with my coffee.

Medicare is NOT free

and doesn't cover everything.

I am thankful for the cool mornings here as it may reach 84 today and the heat moves in starting tomorrow.

I miss the groups of writers in Missoula. Covid disrupted so much. I need to meet writers here in Udon Thani ... there ought to be some.

I love using pictures and photos as prompts.

My first trip did not go as planned. I ended up with a boyfriend and I didn't want to leave so... I returned quickly.

I'll be posting lots of pics on facebook, both beauty and ugliness matter imho.

I just went to a celebration of this town. Everyone wears orange (my favorite color) as the provincial flower and flag are both orange.

Wow! I'm not much on contests but those are some beautiful photos!!! Thanks for sharing that info. I was surprised to see you back in Thailand so soon, but if I lived in Montana? Yes, I would be back in warm weather anytime possible. Enjoy!

I usually can write winter/summer but have the most energy spring/autumn. My body isn't quite sure what season it's in at the moment. One week in Thailand. 78 at noon in Udon Thani. High in the 80s. Gets down to the 50s at night. Almost perfect weather for me.

I know my stik plant is blooming in Montana. Here? Orchids among an assortment of tropical flowers.

I don't normally eat collards but...on New Year's Day. In soup with all those other veggies and spices, they taste like any other green although maybe a little stronger. I waived the cornbread that I usually make to go with them because I had some Italian thin-sliced Plublix loaf to eat up...great dipping. :)

Nine Years

Today is my ninth anniversary on Writing.Com! I can't imagine not being here. It's my first click in the morning and my last click at night. I've met so many wonderful people, and sadly some are no longer with us. I've been part of many groups, had my own contest, and entered many others. Writing.Com is family, family I will never leave...until you know when. You all saved my sanity during my husband's illness and death and gave me a break from my heartbreak. May Writing.Com go on forever!
