Count me in for the return to Sappho Books Cafe and Bar. I don't sleep much and sampling different literary named drinks sounds like the perfect way to spend our last night in Sydney. Tomorow is Adelaide and a new adventure.

Allison's solo trip is a dream come true. It's so beautiful there. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Come on when will you ever have such a view of the stars than lying out there in our sleeping bags. It's like being surrounded by diamonds, nothing tops that.

AHHH, I'm beyond excited to have you with us on this adventure. Having a camera on your helmet is a smart move, I can't imagine trying to juggle a camera in and out of a dry bag and unzipping the kayak skirt that helps keep our bodies warm.

I agree we get braver as we get older, but we are wiser. It's no longer stupid bravado, but contemplated wisdom in the bravery. If our mind stays sharp, the bravery continues...

But then when our bodies start to hinder us in older age the fear creeps in, especially if we don't trust our bodies or minds to manage.

either way, I say steady on. Keep making the leap and challenging yourself because it will help to keep you young and virile... even into older age.

These are two great, thoughtful entries, Carly. I like your thoughts on the different ways of enjoying an experience. First you live the experience, but in my experience it doesn’t seem real at the time, it’s only afterwards your mind lets you see it like a film or movie. I’ve never bungle-jumped for instance but have done other adventurous things, but I can imagine seeing myself doing it from another’s perspective,
As for the second quote, one wonders why we’re so fearful sometimes. I lways ask myself “what’s the worst that can happen?” I probably won’t die, I may get derided or laughed at, but that’s not my problem and shame on anyone who would do such a thing. Anyway as get older we get braver. And that’s true.

Best Thing About Staying Home

30 Day Blogging Challenge

Tuesday April 7th Prompt
What is the best thing to come out of staying at home (so far)?

I would have to say setting my own schedule and not spending so much on coffee shops and cafes. I don't have to commute. I can work in my most comfortable clothing - sweats and t-shirts.

I am writing more, but my focus for reading is not good. I am also on a heavy learning curve for trying to figure out how to reach my ASD students (special education). Google Classroom and Boardmaker Online are at the top of that list. So is trying to figure out how to videotape myself doing story time... and then getting it out to my students and their families. I will be so glad when we can get back into the classroom again.

Setting my own schedule is good, but I have to be careful I stay on track. Some days it has been hard to focus, but other days are better. I am learning to go with the ebb and flow and still get things done.

I am grateful for what I do have - some income, a nice place to live and I am not living alone - I have my mother and two cats here. I can get out and walk around the neighbourhood or out into the garden to putter. We have great neighbours. One called up my mother and asked if there was any wine she would like him to buy for her!

Stay safe and healthy everyone! We will get through this.
