Instagram, YouTube? I dunno. I want to write some stories placed in Thailand... maybe a screen play... complete with music in Thai/Lao. I've even sang some to myself (melody/images rather than words). My voice left me long ago but that shouldn't stop me from singing.

I wish... I was looking forward to my high-school reunion... but covid. I no longer live close to where I grew up. None of them live here. I have to rely on new connections.

I didn't connect well as a child. Never quite felt at ease in my skin and I wasn't taught how to get along.

So I've spent a lifetime working on connections. Sometimes it worked! No need to mention the other times.

I continue stumbling on my journey.

Glad you went.

I can imagine it would be overwhelming for the senses. I live in quiet and will need to adjust next time I travel. I mostly live in silence and that's not in my forecast.

Yes, I remember jarts. We were careful. I didn't play marbles. I came to dislike Monopoly. Later I learned to dislike Risk.

I prefered card games. I played to win. Of course, I lost as well.

I'd be pissed and demanding to be paid for answering the phone! I worked 11 pm - 7 am. I did NOT works days. I did NOT work evenings. I slept 8-4 and told friends not to call me unless the house was burning down. I literally could not work if I didn't have enough sleep.

Some at that time thought we should have rotating shifts. The night crew adamantly said NO. My opinion? Rotation is an abuse and so are many schedules for police and hospitals. I've worked both. You want a doc or a cop who's worked 16 hours straight to look after you?

New York

I am back from New York and I must say that I could fill a book with my impressions of this great city. It seemed as if there were a story hiding in the face of every person I encountered. I wanted so much to ask both the visitors and the true New Yorker's how they came to be in this city. I caught myself making up stories in my head to fit the narrative of who I thought they were. From the street performer to the vendor pushing the cart, to the strolling patrons of Central Park and the artist drawing on his canvas, to the energetic businessman eager to catch his train and the homeless wanderer in the street, I couldn't help but paint my own picture and wonder if their truth laid anywhere within my thoughts I also couldn't help but feel insignificant when I stood between two high rises and looked up toward the sky with an inescapable feeling of awe transcending upon me. The design of each structure spoke of fortitude and beauty. I was inundated with the sounds of the city, as well. The city held a constant array of beeps whistles, voices, music, steam blowing, laughter, and the passions of life. I found this overwhelming at times, but mostly it infused my spirit. It is good to be home, but part of me misses the enchantment of this fun city. I now understand my daughter's desire to move there.
