Instagram, YouTube? I dunno. I want to write some stories placed in Thailand... maybe a screen play... complete with music in Thai/Lao. I've even sang some to myself (melody/images rather than words). My voice left me long ago but that shouldn't stop me from singing.

I wish... I was looking forward to my high-school reunion... but covid. I no longer live close to where I grew up. None of them live here. I have to rely on new connections.

I didn't connect well as a child. Never quite felt at ease in my skin and I wasn't taught how to get along.

So I've spent a lifetime working on connections. Sometimes it worked! No need to mention the other times.

I continue stumbling on my journey.

Glad you went.

I can imagine it would be overwhelming for the senses. I live in quiet and will need to adjust next time I travel. I mostly live in silence and that's not in my forecast.

Yes, I remember jarts. We were careful. I didn't play marbles. I came to dislike Monopoly. Later I learned to dislike Risk.

I prefered card games. I played to win. Of course, I lost as well.

I'd be pissed and demanding to be paid for answering the phone! I worked 11 pm - 7 am. I did NOT works days. I did NOT work evenings. I slept 8-4 and told friends not to call me unless the house was burning down. I literally could not work if I didn't have enough sleep.

Some at that time thought we should have rotating shifts. The night crew adamantly said NO. My opinion? Rotation is an abuse and so are many schedules for police and hospitals. I've worked both. You want a doc or a cop who's worked 16 hours straight to look after you?

Old Friends

You've heard of the Gilmore girls, but there was also a less known duo a long time ago. They were the Griffin girls, not connected by name but, by the years of their youth spent in the same housing project. Once upon a time they were two little girls sharing all of the experiences that life offered them or threw at them. Their time spent together was a blending of joy,laughter, goodhearted giggles, back street educations,poor girl wanna be dreams, neighborhood dramas, grief, secret clubs, and forever friendships. The saga of the Griffin Girls happened many years ago in a place long since fallen. The only testimony to the girl's existence are the heart-strings tied to each other in a sometimes whimsical, sometimes painful childhood. The Griffin girls grew up and lived their lives in different ways. Occasionally, their paths would cross, but it was only for an instant. Then one day they met once again in a glorious garden and their friendship was reborn. The heartstrings were just as strong as the once they were. The joy they had shared many years prior was revisited and their laughter was musical. There were a few tears, as if we had come home from a long and wearisome journey, that gave witness to a treasured friendship. Meeting up with an old friend is somehow magical.
