PROMPT: November 20th - Do you remember your first friend? Under what circumstances did you become friends? Are you still in contact with them or any of your other childhood friends? I grew up in Blackwell , Oklahoma, and that is where I met and played with my grade school and Junior High School (middle school) friends. Between Junior High and High school we moved from Blackwell to Shawnee , Oklahoma. I remember a few girls from Blackwell, I can put a names to only two of them. I've encountered several people from Shawnee high school the class of 1966 on Facebook, but I haven't encountered anyone from Blackwell, or at least no one who will admit being from Blackwell. I have very little in common with the class of 1966. I respond to poss with a like or a couple of words. That is the extent of my communications with my acquaintances from my youth. I have never been back to Blackwell or Shawnee, which is fine with me. The only reason to go back to Blackwell is my grandparents' graves, and I have no reason to go back to Shawnee. |
