The Bab had eighteen disciples, who he called Letters of the Living. Each of the Letters of the Living searched for the Bab independently and found him without assistance from the others. The Shrine of the Bab is on Mount Carmel in Israel, nine terraces ascend the Mountain to the terraces of the shrine, and nine more terraces ascend from the shrine up to the building that cover the crest of Mount Carmel. |
