We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
“There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in his service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. . . . Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord. . . .” ― Charles Spurgeon “Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strengths.” ― C. H. Spurgeon “Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity.” ― Charles Haddon Spurgeon “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” ― Charles Spurgeon “A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” ― Charles Spurgeon “Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.” ― Charles Spurgeon “When your will is God's will, you will have your will.” ― Charles Spurgeon https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/2876959.Charles_Haddon_Spurgeon (Philippians 2:13, KJV) |
This life is running faster ev'ry day. It seems, that keeping pace is a hopeless task. For more and more we need comply, obey, before we have a day to simply bask. Who runs our lives to make us faster run? Who dictates where we live, and eat, and play? Who chooses all our hopes under the sun? Who tells us how we view the sun each day? How foolish when we humans think we reign! How could we spin the Earth, and chase the sun? Is there Someone, Whose Coming makes all plain? Can any challenge He, Who stands as won? The keeping pace we always need to do is walking with The One, Whose Word is True. by Jay O’Toole on June 30th, 2021 |

Wisdom lifts the Truth it knows to shine through Life's long days. Wisdom helps the weak ones grow in all the world's displays. Wisdom lasts forever best, and guides us to the Lord. Wisdom's strength meets ev'ry test by resting on God's Word. Wisdom stands when all around are moved by blowing wind. Wisdom makes the heart abound by cleansing it from sin. Wisdom lasts when all is dust, and falling at the feet of Wisdom’s Master, Whom we trust, This Jesus Christ, replete. by Jay O’Toole on June 23rd, 2021 |
For someday soon right through the Blue, He'll come to take us Home. There's not much left for us to do, but point all to God's tome. To crack the sky with sudden Light will shake earth and its core for He will come to some at night, but none can Him ignore. His chosen ones will vanish quick with Christ beyond the clouds. The ones still here will the False One trick as from his birth he vowed. Please, give your heart to Truth this day for Jesus twice was laid, in manger low and musty grave, but next time to be obeyed. (John 14:6) He rose, again. He's coming soon. He looks for hearts to save. Just look for Him, morn, night, or noon. He'll empty sainted graves. by Jay O’Toole on June 22nd, 2021 |

The week is done, and what a week! Now, Driver's Ed is through, but just the part of classroom-speak, there's driving, yet to do. And when that's done the test will win a Driver's license new, for soon she'll take it for a spin with experience left to do. The lawn is mowed through strength and sweat for now, I need some rest. The sun is aye a "too hot" threat, but finished I am blest. I think ahead to what comes next, and Papa's Driver's Ed. Experience means, "Not perplexed," removing all the dread. Next week, we practice parallel parking, keeping safety first, go slow to be within the marking, caution daily versed. by Jay O’Toole on June 18th, 2021 |
