This is so cute. I love the completely legitimate problems that the troll sees about having to remember all those years and the cake all over everyone. I also think that tailoring a party to suit a person's (or lizard's) preferences is the way to go. This made me smile. Nicely done.
That is beautiful story, only if he had more people like him in the world who can believe everry day is a day of celebration, and all the other things we hold on to so dearly are not as important as they seem, the world would have been so much more peaceful.
Well, Amilcar is fortunate in that he's fictional. I can give him the ability to sail peacefully through bureaucratic mazes without problems, but life is not quite like that for us. We have to deal with the way things are but, if we can keep it in perspective and know that, in the great scheme of things, it is little more than a mosquito bite, we can free ourselves to some extent at least.
I enjoyed reading this. What labels are placed upon us, our time stamps - they pale in comparison to what we believe about ourselves. The sentiment that Amilcar expressed when he stated that every day is his birthday is wonderfully insightful. It is something I have been striving toward for years. Unfortunately, I am held captive by statistics and numerical values, mountains I have yet to be able to climb.
Thank you, Rhyssa. The plan is always to find an angle that others would not but, in Amilcar's case, there may be quite a lot of my own philosophy involved as well.
This is interesting. I loved the philosophical interpretation of what an ideal birthday could be. I like the attitude. To live in a state without expectation makes anything that happens something wonderful. An interesting interpretation of the prompt.
