Christening Listen to the sparrows chirping for food. They have babies to feed. Who will feed them? Their vision focuses on kindness and crumbs. Hear their pleas. — Don't ignore them. I live off the crumbs that others leave, if not for me then for someone in need. Tears glisten. I've been seen. I've been seen! The kindness of strangers awes me. © Copyright 2021 Kåre Enga [178.184] (3.juli.2021) Prompt: Write a poem using one, or all, of these words: glisten, vision, christen. View from the bridge They cavort y'know: the swans, the geese, the ducks — especially the ducks. They wait until we turn the other way then continue making — ducks. Then beavers glide up channels to gather leaves at the base of half-gnawed trees where eddies swirl. And we? We watch the swallows swoop, then cross the bridge to drown our sorrows. Those of us afraid to swim, unable to fly. © Copyright 2021 Kåre Enga [178.179] (31.juli.2021) 13 lines free verse ~65 words prompt free write about wildlife month. ~ Wild About Wildlife Month https://www.popsugar.com/pets/Wild-About-Wildlife-Month-23835474
