Short Story and Poetic Halloween Contest for the First Peoples' Tribe

Thank you, my lovely Hannah ♫♥♫ , for the stunning ribbon that graces our Halloween Bash!

Welcome to Cissy's Halloween Bash where she wants you to give us your best spooky poem, short story, or BOTH!

Most contests around WDC list the rules first, but we are going to tell you all about the prizes, since they are too good to be presented at the end! This particular contest will select four winners for the best poems and four winners for the best short stories!! But, that can only happen if we have enough entries in both categories. In the event that we don't' receive four or more in either category, only first place will be awarded. Now, let's delight in the prizes!!

PRIZES:

1st Place: A trophy bearing the winner's name, a Merit Badge and a 10k Awardicon .

2nd Place: A 10k Awardicon for the winning piece and 3,000 GP's

3rd Place: 3,000 GP's

4th Place: Honorable Mention and 1,000 GP's

RULES:

Contest opens for submissions on October 3rd and will close for judging on October 24th at Midnight (WDC time).

Entries must be newly written specifically for this contest that is being held in honor of our Chief, Cissy Whitewolf!

Entries may be edited until the deadline. Any editing done after the deadline will result in the entry being disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Each member may submit one short story and one poem. You may not enter two poems or two short stories.

Please include your submission in the forum below in BITEM format. If you are unsure of how to do this, please email mystic_writer for guided help.

Stories and poems may be as comical or as gory as you would like, but please keep all forum posts at 13+ or below for our younger members.

Poems are not to exceed 40 lines and may be written in any form. If you elect to use a rare form, it would be nice if you would include an explanation at the bottom of the poem.

Please keep short stories at or below 1,000 words and please include a word count at either the beginning or the end of the story.

Poems and stories will be judged on how well they relate to the spooky holiday and aspects such as spelling, grammar and punctuation will be focused on. We will be looking for the most well written and most entertaining pieces!
