I'm the one that posted the original cutting thread. I did write a piece where a character was in the midst of a cutting scene but it wasn't for shock value. I'm not a cutter myself so I wanted to be damn sure the piece was respectful so I asked others opinions... I got veeerry few ratings and reviews and for awhile I was getting bad ratings on it without comment (which bugs me like you wouldn't believe.) I asked if people shy away from it or judge it badly just because it is taboo. The answer was yes. The only thing that matters to me is two ex cutters did say it was a good piece. It was only one scene of a novella I wrote and intend to publish in the next few months when I can raise the funds. You're more then welcome to read the one scene. It's really in there to create an emotional pull from the character to the reader. I hope I succeeded. Only my readers can tell.
