Spring 2006 SLAM! - Congrats to the winners - see you all next time! |
Thoughtless Tongue Sometimes I speak before I think, a common human flaw, with passion, and I forgive myself, as each spring the violets return, lilacs, iris--those purple flags. The common human flaw of passion shudders my body, contorts, transforms, signals the violets' return, lilacs, iris--those purple flags of the spirit's higher purpose: praise. Symbols shudder my body, contort, transform me, signal a new life possible after any kind of death of the spirit's higher purpose--praise. Symbols of life abundant ravage the garden. A new life is possible after any kind of death, even the death of love. Life abundant ravages the garden, torments my lamenting heart with its merciless rain. Even the death of love makes me forgive myself as each spring merciless rain torments my lamenting heart and I speak again before I think.
