I have noticed that you cannot always discover many things about an author through one or even two stories. I think that the reason I love to read series is that, through multiple stories, the writer's character is revealed! Of course, I have read many series that I have found to be weak in character traits, yet was unable to put down. I have that problem....once I start a series, I must read it all the way through; provided it is not crude, which I will immediately throw away. if it is rather boring, I keep reading, hoping that the characters and plot will grow on me! The series that I just finished (five books), turned out to be rather boring, but....I made it through them all! Is there help for this? Then there is the other side to this. I have just begun a series, and I the descriptions, setting, and plot seem to be so complicated that I am not quite sure I understand what is happening. Of course, I bought the first five books in this series, so I will wade through them all and hope for revelation!
