Bouncing across the paddocks, Sarah and Tamara were laughing in the cabin of the Ute. On the back, Jason and Nick were keeping an eye out for Kangaroos. The four of them had been sitting around, having a quiet drink, when someone piped up and suggested the go roo shooting. Everyone agreed that this sounded like a great idea, so they all grabbed a rifle and took off out to the Ute. It was quickly decided that the girls would drive and the guys would jump up on the back, as there was not enough room for them all inside the cab.

Driving out of the farm’s main yard, Sarah and Tamara were joking around and gossiping about the two guys. Jason and Nick were using the spotlight to keep an eye out for the roos cause each of them wanted to be the first to bag one, so they could show off to the girls. It was all good-natured fun though. A yell rang out from the back of the Ute. A roo had been spotted. They were off. Sarah turned that Ute on the smallest possible turn and floored it. Racing across the paddock, Tamara was keeping an eye out to make sure there weren’t any ditches or anything they could get stuck on. A few minutes of this and they had the roo getting tired. It wasn’t going to be allowed to outrun them.

Tamara spotted a small hill that was right in their path and suggested they go another way but everyone else agreed they should keep going in a straight line. As Sarah floored it up the side, dust was thrown up into the cabin of the Ute and all around.

“Bang” One of the rifles went off. Shouts followed. A mixture of voices clamoured together. Everyone wanted to see which one of them had gotten a shot at the roo. When the dust settled though, a scream pierced the air. Sarah had turned to Tamara to see if she knew who had made the shot. Blood covered the windscreen and Tamara was staring off into space. A neat little hole was all that showed in the rear window.
