I just read this about you losing your mother. First let me say I'm sorry for your loss. I think i may have posted in my items about when my own mother passed away, but I'm not sure where now. It has been many years.
If I find it I'll drop the link here.

What I will say is everyone handles their grief differently. Some react right away, others are still numb from it, but often it kind of feels like an emotional rollercoaster ride.

I did not even want to see a picture of my mother for months after I heard she had passed on. It was not because I didn't care but the opposite. My grief was so great and I felt I could not face it fully . . Instead I had tucked my grief away basically in a little box with her ID and a piece if her jewelry.

At some point I took it out and allowed myself to remember our time together, I wiped my tears away then put it away. And did not touch it again for another length if time.
And then I allowed myself to do that again. I really think it helped me.

The way I feel now is my faith in God. I believe that God perfecta us in his love. So my mother is within Gods realm and dies not have to deal with what we as humans have to. And she certainly is not forgotten. Nobody can take that from me or anyone.
