Shaye and Jaeyne of the Free Fab Five, You two have helped me feel okay about using voice-to-text. I plan to use the version on my phone. Right now, I am typing on my notebook while drinking coffee at Panera's but when I am alone in the dark in my camper, I hope to use the voice-to-text feature on my phone to help me build up my word count. The version on my phone is pretty accurate and I can tell it to place a period, question-mark and start a new paragraph. It does not respond to comma or colon and I can't remember if I can tell it exclamation point. I don't think I can. I used a built in version on this notebook several years ago and it "learned" my voice which was nice. The other day, I was using it on my phone and it could not write: "begrudgingly" so there are burps but it will help me catch up, I am sure... I used voice-to-text one year when I was very, very, very far behind. Without voice-to-text, I would not have won that year. However, I am still editing the words from that day... One year, I "wrote" while driving! Hands free but dictating as I drove. But, I have always felt guilty about it—like it was cheating. Honestly, I think it is much easier for me to talk that it is for me to write but some of my WdC friends think better with their fingers... Maybe this is a lesson I need to learn... I might try to use voice-to-text for a contest entry this week and see how it goes... Right now, I need to get a move on with Nano—I need 25,000 more words!!! ------- ruwth ~ ~ ~ JESUS is LORD! ~ ~ ~ |
