This is a continuation of Jon and Jane 1
As Crane was sitting in Janes living room she was running around in circles throwing random items into her Sanrio suit cases and bags. She was practically shaking with excitement for their fast coming trip to NY. Every time she ran past him she kissed him on the cheek and continued running back and forth. She was quite glad at the moment that she didn't have any pets. That would just have been another thing that she would be stuck worrying about. Eventually she slowed down and sat on Cranes lap and wrapped her arms around his neck and gazed at him lovingly. "I am so excited. I love you" She said and kissed him deeply.

Crane watched Jane frantically scramble around her living room, throwing clothes and other random items in a suit case, rambling on about New York. "Wait...Jane..baby, slow down, what are you talking about? New York...when? Why?" Crane enjoyed life in Gotham and hoped she wasn't going to permanently relocate. He looked at her with some slight panic wondering what she was talking about. "And...I was just going to ask you to move in with me." Crane looked up and her and grinned wondering if she would be surprised by his sudden outburst.

Jane was still sitting on his lap as she pulled the tickets out of her back pocket." We are going to New York for three weeks! " She squeeled. Then he asked her to move in with him. She practicly fell off his lap she was so stunned but once again she got excited and attacked him with hugs and kisses "Of course!" She was at the point of tears. "You need to go home and pack right now!" She exclaimed and jumpped off of his lap with a shit eating grin. Crane needed more excitement in his life and thats exactly what she was here for.

Crane's eyes widen as he stared at Jane, excited and happy, ready to leave at a moment's notice. "But, Jane, what about Arkham and my patients. We have to leave now? What...what are we going to do there? Is this...a vacation? You whisking me away for a few weeks?" Crane wondered what could be so exciting that they needed to leave almost immediately. "I'll go back. All I really have are a lot of black suits though, maybe we should go shopping."

Jane laughed "Why do you feel like I always have to have a plan or reasoning to the things I do hun? But we do. We have to go soon" She said happily. Then Crane brought up the prospect of shopping. Oh lord he just knew how to make her excited. She jumped up and grabbed his hand pulling him over to the door. She slipped on her heels and waited for him to go as she held the door open for him and skipped down the hallway singing some random song with really chipper lyrics.

Crane shrugged his shoulders and looked up at her affectionately. "I'm not sure. I guess it's just the way I am, you know. I like to have an idea of what's going to happen, so I can prepare for the unexpected." Crane walked towards her and grabbed her hand, holding it tenderly as they walked out of her house. She didn't know, but since they were going shopping Crane decided that he would buy her an engagement ring, something tasteful and reflective of her personality, something that she might cherish and love forever, always looking at it fondly, thinking of him lovingly. They walked to his Mercedes, and he mashed the fop unlocking the doors. Crane escorted her to the passenger side and made sure that she was seated comfortably before closing the door. He slid into the driver's seat and started the car, listening to the soft purr of the engine. Crane switched on Gotham Public Radio catching an Anton Bruckner symphony. "To the Gotham Mall we go lovey."

Jane immidiately pushed her seat back and reclined and put her feet out the window and smiled at him. "So whats on our shopping list today dear? I think we should buy you a hat" She said with a giggle and a wink. She reached over the center console and grabbed his free hand and entertwined her fingers with his. She loved the feeling of having the wind blowing through her hair and being with Crane. She bobbed her head in time with the basses keeping the beat. She closed her eyes and grinned feeling completely content as the sped down the highway.

Holding her hand, the fingers clasped together, two lovers scrambling for self-understanding, Crane smiled and felt a sense of relaxation and calm that he only experienced with her. Without her, the dark madness would return and Crane's self-destructive behavior would return and he'd fall into a deep void of self-loathing. "I think a hat would be cool. What kind of hat do you think? And I guess I need more than just a couple of black suits unless of course...you want me to look like the grim reaper." Crane glanced over at her and smiled warmly. They continued driving down Gotham Avenue making their way to Gotham Boulevard where the Gotham Mall was located. He loved how carefree and playful she could be. Crane wondered sometimes if he was too serious, if he could actually maintain her interest, and keep her happy and in love with him, if he could always be her one and only. As they pulled into the parking lot and started searching for a parking space, Crane pulled her hand towards his mouth and kissed the top of her hand affectionately and tenderly. They eventually found a parking space near the main entrance, and exited the Mercedes, holding hands and walking towards the mall entrance. Crane glanced around seeing hordes of bubbly teenagers bouncing casually into the mall, credit cards in hand, preparing to decimate their parent's hard earned savings. Crane knew that life if Gotham could be rough and tumultuous, and knew that many took for granted the few opportunities afforded in such a dark town. Crane wondered what it would have been like to have a 'normal' childhood, but was glad to be sharing what tenderness remained with Jane. "I guess we'll make a stop into Gotham's Secret, maybe pick you up some lingerie, something really sexy, then...to the jewelry store."

With excitement she bounded closer to him and walked quickly to keep up with his stride because he was both taller than her and she happened to once again be wearing her heels. She leaned into him slightly and she swept her gaze around the mall at all the variaty of people she smiled. She was glad that she was able to enjoy the simple in things in life because as she looked around she noticed that every person there kept their eyes averted and a grim look on their face. She always had a smile and something good to say. She sighed hoping society would eventually change. As they walked into the store she bounced up and down excitedly. "What are your suggestions dear?" She asked sweetly as she looked around the racks of colorful underwear and bras and perfumes and such. This was definately her store. She looked up at Crane to see him practicly drooling at the pictures on the wall. She laughed and rolled her eyes as she pulled him away and over to a different area of the store.

Crane shook himself back into reality as he stared at some of the pictures on the wall. He quickly walked over the Jane and leaned in to her, placing his hand on the small of her back and rubbing gently. "Oh, I don't know. I've always like those...what are they call...boy shorts? I think they would look really sexy on you, accentuate your slender hips." Crane smiled at her warmly and looked around the store. Across from Gotham's Secret was a jewelry store, and Crane noticed something sparkly in the distance. He whispered in Jane's ear. "I'll be right back. I see something that...you need." He walked casually over to the store and asked the clerk for assistance. "I want to see that please," he requested pointing a purple diamond engagement ring. Knowing that purple was Jane's favorite color, and that she had actually accepted his marriage proposal, Crane decided that she needed a ring. Although they were a somewhat unconventional couple, Crane believed that certain aspects of a marriage were needed to maintain continuity. Crane sighed to himself and thought, 'shit, I don't know her ring size.'

As Crane practically ran out of the store Jane was quite confused but tried not to think much of it. She walked further into the store gathering random lengerie that she thought was cute. She wasnt really one to be wearing dark colored underthings so what she had in her hands was all extremely bright colored and happy. She grinned and walked over to find someone to get her a changing room. She left the lady with instructions to tell Crane which dressing room was hers. She wanted to show off her choices and get his opinions before she decided to buy it. Jane tended to be a very money savy person. She didn't particularly like to spend money and if she did she had to make sure that what she chose was a good choice because she wanted to be happy with what she got. So she started pulling on a green corset/bra and matching lace boy shorts.

Crane walked back into Gotham's Secret after impulsively running off to view the sparkly ring that caught his attention. Oftentimes, Crane would be impulsive, doing random things that caught his immediate attention, especially for those he cared about, as he would always return with a pleasant surprise. Crane went ahead and purchased the ring on the spot and figured they could have the ring sized later. He looked around for Jane, but didn;t see her. He felt slightly lost and bewildered when a clerk came up to him and said, 'Sir, are you looking for the young woman you were with?" Crane nodded humbly looking like a sad puppy who had lost its owner. The woman said, "follow me," and took Crane back to the dressing room where, ordinarily, he would be permitted to enter. However, Crane told the clerk he had something special to show her and wanted to surprise her. The clerk nodded and smirked a little, and allowed Crane to walk back into the dressing room. Crane looked around, "Jane...Jane!" his voice modified only slightly, so as not to draw too much unnecessary attention. he heard her rustling around in one of the dressing rooms, and knocked. "You in there baby...I...have something to show you."

Jane was twirling around in front of the mirror watching the sparkley strings that hung down off of the outfit swirled around her. She was smiling as she heard Crane calling for her in the dressing room she laughed and called back to him "Im in this one dear" She kicked her foot out under the stall so he could see her. She looked down to see her cute pink and sparkley pedicure. As he appeared at the door she quickly opened the door and pulled him in so that no one could catch a glimpse of her mostly naked body. "What do you have to show me hun?" She asked softly as she brought her arms up to cover as much skin as possible because she was feeling quites modest at the moment.

Crane stared at her standing in front of him, amused at her modesty, but admiring her enticing and transfixing aestheticism that was beginning to rouse his more lustful instincts. He fumbled for a moment, not knowing exactly what to say then just blurted out, "Jane...sweetheart, you know I love you. We've...been through a lot together, and well..." he reached into the bag he was hold and pulled out a little black box contaning the purple engagement ring. "I just...you know...thought we should make this thing official." he opened the box revealing the sparkly diamond and bashfully handed it to her. "Now..I have no idea what ring size you are, but I saw it shining across from this store, and just had to get it, sorry I ran off so unexpectedly." He stared deeply into her eyes and noticed a slight tear forming at the corner of her eyes. "Are you....you okay baby?"

As Crane pulled the small box out of his bag Jane thought that she was going to have a heart attack. She opened it and gasped. It was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. She pulled it out and held it up to the light and it sparkled like a star. She started crying when she pulled it on and it fit perfectly snug. She practicly knocked him over she hugged him so hard. "You mean so much to me. Thank you so much. Its so beautiful. I love you" She kissed him passionately and just held him there for a few moments just because she wasn't quite ready to let go yet. She beamed up at him and kissed his cheek. She had forgoten where they were so she stepped back and twirled for him showing off both her ring and what she had pulled off the racks. "What do you think?" She asked sweetly

Crane stared lovingly at Jane Blaze Phd twirling before him, showing him her matching bra and boy shorts, the engagement ring sparkling in the light, a beaming smile on her face, glancing up at him full of affection and admiration. Crane couldn't have been happier watching her twirl before him in their own private universe. "Amazing baby...just...amazing. You look so beautiful, just saying that word sounds cliche, but..it's true. You...want any more colors though?" Crane would spoil her as much as he possibly could because, above all others, she deserved to be spoiled..

She laughed and said quietly "So I should get these? Ok" She said as she dropped them to the floor and started putting her clothes back on with a grin as his jaw dropped to the floor. She laughed stood up and kissed him on the cheek. "Hun pick your jaw up off the floor and lets go buy these" She said as she grabbed his hand and her soon to be her belongings and left the door with her head high and a grin on her face and one of the most beautiful rings on her fingers. She pulled him over to the counter with a grin to find the lady she asked for help beaming back at her. They exchanged plesentrys and soon enough they were walking out of the store with smiles on both their faces holding hands as she occasionally looked up at him admiringly.

Crane strolled with Jane through the mall glancing around at some of the desperate faces, seeing the grief on their faces, bracing for the realization that they would be emptying their wallets in the name of consumerism. Crane, however, was pleased. he glanced over at Jane noticing her smile, the sparkle in her eye as she looked at him, an almost permanent grin on her face. He could trust her. There were few that he could, but he knew, she was absolutely the only one he could trust with his life. Crane looked around the stores finally realizing that he needed some clothes for their upcoming trip. "Sweetheart, you're going to have to tell me what I need to bring on our little trip. I mean..do I need some casual clothes, you know, or some formal clothes." Just then Crane noticed a JCrew store and decided that he could get everything he needed from there. "Hey...here we go. Let's go in that store." Crane nodded to the outlet and trotted happily holding Jane's hand. This was the one store where Crane felt could completely accommodate every aspect of his personality. Crane deliberated for a moment, "what do I need?" then looked at Jane and grinned. "What else do you need?"

She looked around. She loved the mall but she just wished that she would see more smiling faces which she didn't. But she still trotted along with Crane. He made her happy. She knew that he was the only one that she could tell everything. He was her best friend and her lover and he made her so extremely happy at some points she thought her heart might burst like a balloon. As they walked into the store Crane motioned to she looked around curiously. It was like Cranes personallity threw up all over the store. She almost laughed out loud but held it in as they walked over to the mens section."I don't need anything hun. I am already packed" She said with a grin. She could tell that he didn't entirely enjoy the random suprises but he needed more random things in his life. He tended to be to be too serious and all planned out. "I'm not really sure what we will be doing to tell you the truth. But I know its gonna be amazing because you will be there" She smiled at him and laughed as he couldn't believe she didn't have an day by day itenary but that wasn't how she worked. "It will all work out dear. Try not to have an anurysm before we even get to leave yet. Lets just get you some essentials. But you pick" She said and gestured to the clothing racks with a look of excitement on her face

‎"Okay, okay, let's just get a few things really quick." Crane scanned the store and picked out a gray utility fleece zip hoodie, some critter boxers, a secret wash button down shirt in Hancock stripe, a couple pairs of denim bootleg fit jeans, a pair of brown suede shoes, size nine, a pair of Ray Ban aviator sun glasses, a few pairs of Corgi light weight pattern socks with anchors on them, an Abingdon messenger bag, a Swaine Adeney Brigg trolley suitcase, and a harvard summer cap, which Crane thought was pretty stylish. "Okay...I think that is good, right?" He looked at Jane and smiled affectionately then walked with her to the register to purchase all of the items. The total cost was a little steep, but Crane decided to splurge a little not just on Jane, but on himself as well. "We need anything else love?"

Jane followed him around the store giveing him her yae and nay on what she thought was cute and what she didn't. She liked all his choices a lot and she thought he was about to look really adorable. She almost passed out though when she saw the price. She had to turn away. She whispered into his ear. "Are you sure darling?" Once again her money saving instincts were kicking in. But as he decided to go ahead and buy it all she supported his decision and helped him carry most of it out of the store. But she made sure to plop the hat on top of his head and pushed the sunglasses onto his face with a grin. She laughed. He looked adorable. She grabbed his hand as they walked out of the store. She felt as high as a kite. She kissed his cheek and they headed out of the mall.

                                                **********************************************************

As Jane Blaze Phd and Crane were walking out into the parking lot making their way to the Mercedes, the sun already set, darkness enfolding the city, cars emptying the parking, Crane mashed the fop and unlocked the doors. He opened the passenger side for Jane allowing her to slide comfortably, and just as he as getting ready to close the door, he felt hard steel against the back of his head. "Drop the fucking bags and give me all your money," He heard a voice growl from behind.

As they were walking back to the car she was smiling up at him from her sitting position as he was pushed forward from behind. She instantly pushed him back and jumped up. She wasn't ready to just sit back and let some dirty ass man control anything in her life. She stood quickly and aimed for the mans knee caps. She wanted to knock him to his knees but it didn't go over that well. He swept back around and was holding her to his chest with a gun to her head. it took everything she had to stay calm in that moment but she managed it. She tried to swipe at his ankles but to no avail she was stuck there. She let out a small cry and looked desperately over at Crane.

Crane stumbled forward and heard Jane hop out of the car and in an effort to disarm the snarling thug wearing a ski mask tussle with him. Crane turned around and confronted Jane being held with a gun to her head. He stared at Jane and looked into the eyes of the thug. Crane, sensing slight panic and fear in the man grinned at Jane, "I'm sorry baby, it's won't last too long." The thug growled at Crane, "Don't fucking talk motherfucker, just give me your ca-," and just as he was finishing his last word, Crane raised his hand and pressed and aerosol dispenser attached to his suit release a gaseous form of one of the strands of his far toxin he was already immune too, but had not administered a vaccine to Jane. He watched the man instantly drop his gun and step backwards, "No...no...they're here..no..stay away," he tripped over his feet and fell backwards, grabbing his head and banging it against the pavement. Crane glanced over at Jane, who also appeared to have a look of panic on her face. "Jane....get in the car baby..now...quick."

Crane guided Jane to the car, seemingly being consumed by her own darkest fears. he had to get her out of there immediately to get her to a safe location to administer the antidote to cure her of the feelings of fear and panic that he could tell were beginning to consume her mind. Crane could not imagine what she might be experiencing, but he would cure her soon. He could not think of any other way to completely neutralize the thug, so he did the only thing he knew to do. Fortunately, he knew he could cure his love. He quickly got her into the car and rushed over to the driver's side, hoping into the car, starting it, slamming it into reverse and speeding off.

Jane was scared in the arms of the man. He smelled like he hadn't bathed in weeks. Tears came to her eyes and she could barely see. She didn't want to die. But as she saw a paniced Crane spray something in the general direction of her. She was weak at the knees and as the man let go and took a step back Jane fell right into the cloud of what ever chemical Crane had dispersed through the air. What Jane thought was an instant later. She wasn't in the parking lot anymore. She was back where she would never have wished to revisit. She was in her childhood bedroom. She knew what was to come next as she had played this scene through her head many times before but this time it was different. She was there. She ran over to her closet. She buryed herself in blankets. But she knew this wouldn't help her for what was to come. She shook and cried as she waited out the few minutes. She heard the heavy footsteps quickly accending the stairs. She choked back a sob as the door was thrown open. Her father was screaming "Where is that little bitch!" She tried to hide deeper in the pile of clothes but he found her. He ripped her arm out of the pile and smacked the side of her head. He pushed her out of the closet. She Tried crawling under the bed. She tried to hold on to somehting but he pulled her back. And he wouldn't stop he kept hitting her. She knew her mom was home. She knew that her mom heard her. Everytime she screamed out "MOMMY!" He hit her again. Eventually she crumpled into a small ball and waited it out. She knew that his anger was bubbling down. And as it did he left. He left her alone in her room crying. with no one to help her. Consumed by fear that he may come back once more.

Crane drove fast, speeding through traffic, glancing over at Jane hearing her whimper. He couldn't imagine what she was experiencing, but saw the torture pain on her face. He reached over and grabbed her hand, "hold on baby, we're almost home." Moments later, Crane pulled into his parking garage. He rushed out of the car and went to the passenger side. He opened the door and quickly retrieved Jane, picking her up, kicking the door shut with his foot, carrying her in his arms and rushing up the stairs to his apartment. Once he reached his door, he stood her on her feet delicately and removed the keys from his pocket. He opened the door then took Jane in his arms again carrying her to the bedroom. He layed her on the bed and rushed to his dresser to obtain a needle containing the antidote. He scampered back over to jane and hurriedly injected her in the arm with the antidote. Moments later he could see her mind clearing from the fear. He pulled her to his chest and held her closely, rocking back and forth. "You're okay baby...come back to me." He kissed her forehead, a tear forming in his eye. "I had to...come back baby...come back to me."

As the scene in Janes mind of her room dissolved slowly and transitioned into Cranes room. She was in his arms shaking severely still not exactly comprehending what was going on. Her vision was blurry and she was still terrified. She thought she was going to die any second. She was sweating and freaking out whimpering. She rocked back and forth not wanting to die. She wanted this to stop but she didn't know how to stop it. She never wanted to see her father again. It was something that she vowed herself. Those days had gone on all the way through her teenage years. and she thought that she was free of it all but it was still engraved in her mind and she wanted it gone. She wanted to be safe again but she didn't know what to do about it. Even though she couldn't see she quickly tried to get up and run away only running herself into a wall a few times before falling on the ground once more.

Crane quickly scrambled to calm Jane. "Jane....you're okay. It's gone. You're here...with me...you're safe." He guided her back to sit on the bed. He watched as the leaned forward holding her head in her hands. Crane felt guilty for having exposed her to the fear toxin, but he had to save her from imminent death at the hands of a imbecilic thug. Crane wouldn't let anyone harm her, and he felt bad that he had to expose her to the madness in order to save her. He hoped that she would forgive him. He knew now though that she would have an immunity to the toxin, at least, this particular strand, and that she wouldn't have to go through the madness again. He pulled her close to him, holding her tightly. "Jane...you understand what I had to do, just...let it go, whatever it is that haunts you, is gone now. You're here, in my apartment, with me. You're safe, completely, utterly safe." He continued comforting her hoping her mind had returned from the depths of insanity it had been exposed to. Crane knew that she had not been exposed to it long enough to reach permanent psychosis, and that soon, she would return to him.

Slowly Jane calmed down her mind started to clear. Her vision started to return to her slowly and she fell back into Cranes arms still crying from the expierence. She shook her head back and forth whispering "No" Repeatedly. She hid in his arms trying to still hide from her past. Somewhere in her she was angry at crane for exposing her to this. Because he was her safe haven and this was his fault. She continued to cry and hold him "I love you" She whispered hoarsely and shakily. She still was unable to calm the constant vibration that seemed to seep into her bones. She didn't wanna leave his arms. She didn't want to be hit again. Her body hurt as if it had really happened.

Crane continued holding her knowing that she had just revisited her trauma. Crane knew that she would be a little angry at him for having exposed her to the toxin, but knew eventually she would be stronger, she would conquer her fear, and love him more for having endured the madness. He admired her strength more than ever, and knew that deep inside, she was probably stronger than him. "I love you too baby. Here....lay back...I'll get you some water." He leaned her back calmly and rushed to the kitchen to grab a cold glass of water. He handed it to her, "here baby...drink." She leaned up and drank from the glass thirstily and with relish. Crane petted her head, "Just lay down baby. You're going to need to rest for a while after this night. I'm..so sorry we had to go through this. This fucking city is never safe...anywhere." He rubbed her cheek with his hand, "rest now." He leaned in and kissed her forehead.

Jane slowly sat up and pulled her heels off her feet and rubbed the bottom of her feet with a sigh. She pulled her dress over her head. She took the down blanket and rolled herself up in it. She opened her arms and motioned for him to come and lay with her. She didn't want to sleep alone tonight. Her eyelids were falling down and it took so much energy just to pry them back open. She snuggled in close to him and kissed him "I love you" She whispered. She took one last gaze at her beautiful ring and she kissed it and smiled. She laid her head back on the pillow she almost instantly fell asleep trusting that Crane would keep her safe through the night and never let anything happen to her.

                                              ***********************************************************

Crane held Jane Blaze Phd tightly, snuggling her as she rested her mind having endured a dose of toxin that sent her mind in a state of deep panic, fear, and despair.Crane decided that he would probably have to talk to her about what had occurred, understand what she was grappling with, what fear had surfaced, so that he could more completely understand her and help her work through any madness should it ever return. Through the night he held her close to him, listening to her mumble in her sleep, having a dream that Crane hoped was not a nightmare. He wanted nothing more than to comfort and protect her, but felt a little guilty for having subjected her to a traumatic experience. He drifted off smelling the intoxicating scent of her hair, their bodies warmly pressed against each other. Crane dreamed a pleasant dream of him and Jane in a dark forest clinging to each other, two lovers, alone in their own little corner of exquisite joy. When the sun crept through the blinds the next morning sweeping across Crane's face, he awoke hazily and reluctantly, not wanting the dream to end..

As Crane stirred behind her she was jolted out of a terrible dream in which Crane himself had thrown her into a dryer with a bunch of kitchen knifes and turned it on. As he moved she quickly was thrown out of the dream with a loud gasp with her clothes clinging to her body because she was sweating. Still not recovered from the dream, when she saw Crane she jumped a little but then shook her self and hugged him tight. She whispered lightly in his ear "Morning" She was still shaking a little and she felt slightly sore from the night previous so she pulled him down with her and laid back down with a groan.

Crane stared down into her eyes. "Are you okay? I've been....really worried about you." He kissed her forehead. "The toxin has withdrawal effects, like...withdrawing from opium or heroin..it can be quiet exhausting." He continued cuddling her. "Is there anything I can get you baby?" He wondered if she needed some water, food, something to help her recover quickly from the madness of the toxin. The antidote had runs its course, so Crane assumed that her mind had returned to a state of normalcy.

Jane rolled around in the bed trying to throw the blanket off of her. Once she managed it she crawled on top of Crane and whispered to him "I wanna make banana nut muffins. Can we make muffins please?" She then realized that she was starving. She hadn't eaten in quite a while and she was one to love her some food. She tried rolling off of him so they could get a start on making some food but instead she fell off the edge of the bed and flat on her back. She groaned and looked up at him as he looked down at her with a bemused face.

                                                                    ****************

Crane laid in bed with Jane Blaze Phd the white sheets entangling there bodies, both covered in sweat staring into each others eyes lost in the mystery of their symbiotic existence. Crane leaned over and kissed her on the forehead. "I love you," he muttered in an almost whisper. He ran his hand down her body tracing her curves. "I'm sort of hungry now."

ane rolled onto her side to gaze at Crane with a lazy smile on her face. She reached up her hand slowly and rubbed his shoulder. She whispered back with her voice somewhat horse because of the cold she was getting "I love you too. By the way. I hope I didn't get you sick" She gave him a mischievious smile and then laid back down on her back. "So what do you say that we do about this pesky hunger issue"

Crane stared at her transfixed, gazing into her eyes, rubbing his hand across her cheek affectionately and warmly. "I don't think I'll get sick. If anything, we'll sweat that cold right out of you." Crane smiled thinking of the film Vanilla Sky. "I could..feed you chicken noodle soup and fuck your brains out some more." Crane chuckled wondering if she understood the reference then laid back and stared at the ceiling. "I wish...we could just live here, in this bed, right, like John Lennon and...what's her name?" Crane leaned up and looked at Jane for the answer.

Jane reached up and ruffled his hair and giggled lightly at his cheesy references. But then she looked over at him again with a laugh "But I hate chicken noodle soup" As Crane flipped onto his back she rolled over on top of him and rested her head on his chest and listened to his heart beat. She was completely relaxed as she whispered "Its Yoko Ono Darlin. But everyone hated her so I wouldn't appriciate being her thank you very much" She said as she lightly ran her fingers up and down his biceps.

As she ran her fingers up and down his biceps, Crane felt a tinge of insecurity. He knew he needed to hit the weights more, but had been unable to find the time as of late. However, he was jogging more frequently and had slimmed down considerably, his abs coming through, his body returning to its tone slim and trim shape. She was the only woman that Crane felt comfortable sharing himself completely with. He loved her, and knew that he needed to buy her a ring soon to make the engagement official. He ran his fingers through her hair, smelling her, breathing her in completely. "Baby...what is your favorite soup? I should know little details like this, so I can either buy, order it, or make if for you." Crane laughed lightly and sighed relaxed and complacent.

Jane rolled off of him and grinned. She could tell by the way that he stiffened as she touched his arm that he was uncomfortable. So she sat up slightly and whispered in his ear "Why you self concious you silly hunk" She said as she kissed him "Your perfect" She knew that he needed to hear these things sometimes and she felt bad because she wasn't always the one who would say those. But she always tried really hard for him "Hmmm my favorite soup. OH! Wild rice soup" She said with a grin.

Crane smiled contentedly listening to her. He needed her reassurance, needed to hear the words that set his mind at ease, that allowed him to rest comfortably, releasing the years of taunting and mockery, the former pain and hurt. With her there, in his arms, resting comfortably, playful, secure, he felt genuinely please and happy, something he didn't believe he could experience with anyone again. he had completely opened himself up to her, revealing all of his dark twisted secrets, revealing the inner madness that dwelt within, and she accepted him. She didn't judge him. he felt that she loved him. "Crap...i don't think I have wild rice...I might though. I'll have to check. I'll get you some vitamins too, and um.." Crane cleared his throat, "I guess...you better get ready for round three." Crane smiled charmingly.

Her eyes widened at his suggestion but decided to ignore him and just laughs. She loved being a happy playful and carefree person even though she also had her own insecuritys and demons. She had her own losses and things that scared her but he made those things go away he always made her feel better no matter what was going on. As he got up she followed him and held his hand. She looked up the short distance to meet his gaze and smiled at him. "You give me butterflys. Everytime I'm with you they never leave. Are they like your friends? Are they a part of the package now?" She asked with a smile. As they got to the kitchen she immediately ignored the chairs and hopped straight up onto the counter with a little laugh as he shook his head with a smile.

Crane ruffled through the pantry and found a can of Progresso wild rice soup. He poured it into a bowl and placed it in the microwave. He walked over to her perched on the counter and grabbed her hips pulling her closely and kissing her tenderly and passionately. "I'm happier than I've been in a long time with you. Whatever happens, whatever obstacles we encounter, I know..know..that we can work through them together. Stay with me..always." Crane kissed her neck and rubbed his hands along her legs. Just as he was beginning to feel the urge to take her then and there, the microwave dinged. He stared into her eyes panting a little and whispered. "Soups ready."

Jane laid on her stomach on the counter and ate her soup slowly as Crane watched her lovingly. She smiled and shared her soup with him and slowly became more tired. They flirted with eachother silently and at that moment she felt so happy that possibly her heart might burst. She had burned her lips a few times on the soup but it was still delicious. She slowly started drifting off on the counter. So she grabbed his hand and fell asleep.

Crane picked her delicate naked body up off the counter and carried her back into the bedroom. He layed her gently back on the bed, kissed her forehead, and climbed into bed with her, holding her tightly and snugly in his arms. As she drifted into a peaceful slumber he whispered into her ear, "I love you. I won't let anything bad happen to you ever again." He layed his head on the pillow next to hers, closed his eyes, and fell asleep smiling, happy, calm.

                                                        **************************************************

Crane pulled up to Jane Blaze Phd's house in a Gotham Haul truck wearing a Aqua Teen Hunger Force t-shirt, khaki shorts, JCrew flip-flops, and his usual aviators. He was nervous with slight anxiety. Today, he would be moving Jane into his apartment. She would have his key, access to all of this belongings, she would now become an integral part of his life, trusting her with his, and hoping they would co-exist happily. Crane had never made this step with anyone before. He was obviously apprehensive, the prospect of someone else living with him, sharing everything with him, being completely involved in everything he did sort of frightened Crane. But, as she bounded out of her house smiling beautifully, Crane looked over at her and smiled warmly feeling that he was absolutely making the right decision, that it was time for their relationship to take this step, that it was time for them to begin sharing their lives together. He had been burned in the past, to the point of severe debilitating pain and agony, deep despair and sadness, but Jane accepted him. She didn't try to change him or control him or tell him how to live his life. She was his bubbly bright center, who seemed to enjoy is brooding moodiness and erratic and unpredictable behavior. She even liked his dark slightly disturbed psychotic mind. Crane stepped out of the truck and walked up to Jane opening his arms, "Hey baby...you look like you're ready for this.".

Jane had practicably ran out of her apartment with excitement. She wasn't the kind of person who liked living alone. It made her feel slightly empty. Lost. Unlike always today she didn't even try to dress up. All she could think of was her excitement that she couldn't seem to contain. All she was wearing was her cutoff hooters shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes. This was very unlike her regular attire of a dress and six inch heels. So this time she could run over to him about twelve times as fast as she normally runs. Which wasn't that slow. She was excited to move out of her apartment though she was a bit sad. She had to leave a lot of her stuff behind because even though Crane had a cute little apartment she was sure that a lot of her furniture would either not be necessary or wouldn't fit inside. But she didn't care. She wanted to be with Crane because he accepted her. With all her childlike charm and her impulsive little moods. She ran over to him and tackled him right there in her front yard with a grin. He had came and renewed her soul tore her open and exposed all her weakness. She was now completely vulnerable to his touch. She found herself now a victim of his sweet carass. His entricing words had hypnotised her leaving her ignorant to the outside world. She had never expierenced anything like it. He dragged her in and tightened his grip on her only then to adjust his embrace around her never to let her go. Before as she was tormented by masochism and self-hate he taught her that it was ok for her to be herself. And it was safe for her to open her heart to him. So she did and she now knew that it was one of the best decisions of her life. And now she was happy to take it a step further and move in with him. She leaned down and kissed him and whispered excitedly "Lets do this my love"

They laid there in the grass, Jane straddled atop him after she tackled him to the ground, showering him with love and affection, something Crane had come to accept as an enticing aspect of their relationship. Crane knew that at times he could be cold and distant, but he was always relieved when Jane pulled him into her arms and reassured him that he was okay to be affectionate. He laid there staring up at her big purply eyes, a sign of ecstatic glee in her face, beaming with excitement and pride. He had discovered so much about his nuclear physicist love, her likes and dislikes, what frustrated her, and what brought her into his arms. He brought out the loving and tender aspect of his personality, something that few could tap into besides his ever devoted and loving nieces. Other than Jane and his nieces, Crane felt a deep disconnect with others, a striking indifference that was radically cured more so by Jane's presence than by any other. "I was hoping to get a few people to help us move the heavy stuff, but...if not...I guess we can manage." He stared up and her and smiled then leaned up and picked her petite body up off the ground carrying her to the door of her apartment. "I can't take you across the threshold until we're married," he said and chuckled lightly. "Isn't that the rule?" He set her down on her feet then walked in with her holding her hand. He glanced around the apartment at all of her things, boxes piled high, and an endless bag of clothes trailing to her bedroom. "So...what all are we taking with us?"

As Crane lifted her off the ground she had a slight moment of panic as she clung to him like a monkey. She wasn't the one to really enjoy being off her feet. She would definitely take a train before a plane anytime. She hid her face in his neck and eventually calmed down and trusted him again. As she was set on her feet she kissed him and pulled back with a grin. "Well I labeled all of my boxes. Either donate or keep. Sadly I cant keep much of my furniture." She didn't tell him but she was quite excited to put her zebra print bed set on his bed. She grinned to herself because she couldn't wait to see his face when they got back to his...Wait their. Place and she would show him all of her fun everyday trinkets and to shower her personality in his place. Before everything was packed up Jane's place was practicly a rainbow and it looked like an Ikea commercial. She was always the one to buy things like a rainbow utensil set and cheetah print shower curtains. Some of the things of that sort she parted with for Cranes sanity. But some he would just have to live with her happy and colorful-esque that came with the package of her moving in. As Crane looked around at the gutted apartment she came up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist and smiled into his back.

Crane looked around her apartment and noticed all the labeled boxes, donate and keep, the designated rooms, the parenthesis indicating exactly what the box contained. Crane's interior design approach was simple, usually black and white, a clear indication of his view of himself, the good and the bad, the darkness and the lightness, everything in a sort of postmodern flare. Crane, however, did enjoy antiques and collectibles, little remnants of personality, but had conditioned himself to use a default approach to interior design, black and white, very simply, very chic. However, if he had more time, and someone to share the interest, he would certainly adjust his taste and refashion his lifestyle. He stood there with her arms wrapped around his waist, her head pressed against his back, feeling the heat of her breath, and brought his hands to her arms, rubbing them gently. "Well...I hope you don't change me too much love. I don't mind change, just...I hope you don't redecorate my entire apartment." He grinned to himself then lightly tapped her arm. "Well, i guess we have some work to do." He turned around and kissed her lightly on the forehead. "I'll get the boxes," then proceeded to carry out the boxes one at a time, removing the heavier ones first, and saving the lightest for last or for Jane. He walked over to a corner and noticed a box that said, 'books,' and stared at it quietly. "What do we have here I wonder," he said with a slight grin then looked back at Jane, who carrying out bags of clothes.

Jane carried as much as she could because she didn't wanna seem lazy and incompitant. She liked the fact that she could do things. Thats why she went to the gym a lot it made her ready for things like this. But at the same time she was flattered by the fact that Crane decided to take all the heavy boxes and leave the small and almost empty ones for her. As she was carrying out a load she noticed Crane in the back of the apartment looking quizzicly back at him and set down the few bags of clothes that she had. She walked over to him slowly and placed her hand on his shoulder and smiled down at it. It was her box of books. She was sure that she shouldn't keep all of the 10 large boxes of books. So She put quite a few of them into the donate pile reluctantly but she saved two boxes of all her favorites in there she had collected : The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. The entire collection of Edgar Allen Poe and Quite a bit of Shakespeare. All of the most famous books all in mint condition that she couldn't seem to part with. There were also a lot of physics study books along with a lot of Nuclar designing books. Well all of those along with some of her "Romance" Books. She motioned for him to pick it up "I'll show you later. I think you will be impressed my love" She bumped him with her hip and trotted over to pick up her bags and head out the door with a smile.

Crane glanced over at her and smirked. He carried the books out to the truck enjoying her selection, and looking forward to reading some of her Shakespeare books and physics books, an area he was interested in knowing more about. He continued carrying out the boxes and some of her trinkets. When he looked at her dresser, he noticed it was rather heavy and he would not be able to carry it himself. Luckily, he noticed an older middle aged man mowing the lawn across the street. He walked over to the man and asked if he might be able to assist Crane in carrying the dresser to the truck. At Crane's apartment, he would simply have the concierge desk arrange to have all of Jane's things carried in for them, but as Jane's apartment lacked some of these helpful amenities, Crane had to rely on the kindness of a stranger. They hauled the dresser out to the truck, and Crane threw him twenty dollars then thanked him for his assistance. Crane walked into her apartment and noticed her bubble chair, which Crane exhaustedly carried, with Jane's assistance to the truck. "This looks like a fun little chair," he said then sat and spun in it much to her delight. When he finished he stood up and pulled Jane to him. "Well baby....I think that is everything. Can you think of anything else?"

While Crane was in her chair that she loved so much she got behind him and started to spin him while laughing. She had noticed that Crane had gotten tired and a little bit crankey so she was trying her hardest to cheer him up. She leaned over and whispered in his ear. "Guess what?" As he looked up at her with a face as to ask 'What' She smirked down at him and kissed his forehead. "We are going to sleep in the same bed together every single night from this day forward" With that little suggestion it seemed to lift his tired spirits ten-fold and she rolled her eyes and giggled and pulled him out of the truck and laid down in the grass for a moment. She tugged on his pants and made him lay next to her. "When I was little I wanted to study astronomy but I had to give it up because my eyes are all screwed up and I cant see much in a telescope anymore." She sighed as she looked up at the stars that she loved so much "You can't see the stars very well in the city. They are the best in the middle of no-where. I loved them when I ran away" She smiled once up at the sky and took his hand as they walked back over to the truck and closed the back. She smiled at him across the car as she hopped in away from her old life and into a new one that she was ready to create with Crane.
