Something I wrote on a whim when my mind was focused on some unresolved issues.
What once was All Things, is now all of Nothing.
Knowledge became Hopes, and faded to Lies.
What now is painful Silence, was once a Song to sing,
The flowing water of Life, now Tears in our eyes.

Nothing is left but the wait.

What once was Doubtless Meaning, is now Doubt of every Meaning.
The Bonds became weak, the Shadows covered everything.
Only Ashes remain of the warmth that Fire did bring.
The Darkness swallowed all, even the power of our King.

Nothing is left but the wait.

What once was a sure Path, now an endless dark Maze.
He wanders now alone, Pain behind, Fear ahead.
His Blade is rusted and worn, his Mind a dull haze.
Though words once gave him Strength, those who Spoke them have fled.

Nothing is left but the wait.

What once was Filled is Empty, waiting to be Restored.
It once Fixed many others, but Fix itself it cannot.
Should one seek Him out with a message from his Lord,
He may yet press on, and flee this World of Rot.

Nothing is left but the wait.
