Write a story from three different perspectives.

Welcome to the 3 Perspectives Contest. CLOSED will run again soon.

This contest will run from March 18th to April 7th, 2024.

Write three versions of one anecdote (a short, complete story).

Each version will tell the anecdote from a different perspective of someone involved in it.

No poetry, please. Stories only. Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction are acceptable.

Each version should be a minimum length of 100 words, but no more than 300.

Please select one from the following seven prompts:

1. You are at a party and your best friend has been accused of stealing a wallet. The victim confronts you both.

2. You get home from work and discover your 10 year old child having a conversation with your dog.

3. A priest, a clown, and a cowboy walk into a bar...

4. You are trapped in an elevator with two people you do not know. One of them reveals she is a concert pianist. The other has a dark secret.

5. Your daughter asks you to meet her at a restaurant. Upon arrival, you see her sitting at a table with her boyfriend. Seeing you, she smiles broadly. "Mom, Dad, I'm..."

6. A long-lost friend returns after five years away. He has a woman with him. "John?"

"Hello, Dan. This is my wife Victoria, the Crown Princess of Sweden, and Duchess of Västergötland.

7. Upon request, I am adding an open-ended 7th prompt for creative non-fiction stories only. If you have a personal, or perhaps an historical story you would like to tell, you may do so. Please be sure to clearly state your writing prompt at the top of your work.

GUIDELINES/RULES

All genres are acceptable. No extreme violence or graphic sexual situations.

Please post the word count at the end of each section.

All entries will be evaluated on adherence to the rules, originality, and creativity.

Entries may be edited up until the deadline on May 7th, 2024, at 11:59pm.

Each entrant will receive 1000gps.

Four qualified entries are needed to award 1st Place. Six qualified entries are needed to award all prizes.
