| Week two prompts. Number 11. A luxury I can’t live without. Although. I don’t consider myself as precious, there are lots of things I couldn’t live without. Whether they are considered luxuries, I suppose depends on your starting point. If I lived in a third world country I would consider hot water at the flick of a tap luxurious. However considering I live in an affluent country where hot water is a given, or any water come to that, I’ll have to give some thought as to what I consider a luxury. I suppose I may consider wine a luxury which I’d not like to live without. Does my car count as a luxury? Couldn’t live without my car. Well I could but.... My monthly hairdresser’s appointment. I’d REALLY hate to forgo that. 😩 I think that’s about it. |
| One of the week two prompts was regarding magazines. I never read magazines at all except when I’m at the hairdressers. Come to think of it, I can’t even read them there any more because handling magazines someone else may have thumbed through might give me the dreaded virus. They’ve even taken them out of doctor’s surgeries and put in television instead. Actually on the screen at the docs is just a load of health messages and warnings about washing your hands etc. Anyway back to the magazines. They are all full of “celebrities” I don’t even know. Pages and pages of photographs of them. They are pushing their babies, going shopping or storming out of a restaurant. Such and such is pregnant and THEY are getting divorced! Do I care ? No, and certainly not enough to spend $5 or $6. I used to like reading parenting magazines when I needed advice or tips. Way past that now. Fitness and Health mags are always inspiring, they just make you know you’ll lose that weight one day. Penthouse apparently was “great for the articles.” |

Are you currently obsessed with a current TV show/series? 9. Make a list of your Top 10 favorite magazines and share why you enjoy them. 10. What is your best personality trait? 11. What is a luxury you cannot live without? Number 8 We are so late coming to this show. Breaking Bad. I believe the first season started in 2008! I’ve been hearing about it for years but didn’t bother checking it out. Then my daughter’s boyfriend bought the box set. 6 whole seasons and passed them on to us after they’d watched them. So, we thought we’d watch an episode just to keep them happy and, guess what? We’re hooked. We limit ourselves to two episodes a night instead of bingeing. It’s taken us weeks to get to the final season and I’m not sure what we’ll do from 7.30 to 9.30 pm after it’s finished. We did the same with three seasons of Fargo. These long running shows can sure rope you in. |
| Is there a story behind your middle name? If not, make one up! Well! I feel deprived. What an assumption that I even have a middle name.🤭 I never knew why I didn’t get a middle name. My mother didn’t have one and yet she gave both my brothers one. When people asked what my middle name was, I used to tell them, we couldn’t afford one! As a result of my deprivation, I didn’t give my children one either. Solidarity I reasoned. Maybe the reason I was attracted to my husband was because he too was a solo named person. Yet his three brothers all had middle names! I need to know more. What are the reasons for this useless extra name? Can anyone enlighten me? |
| In the unofficial 30 day blogging challenge the question was posed: What made you smile yesterday? My daughter’s new puppy, Gigi, a labradoodle, is a crazy 10 week old pile of fluff! She’s crazy! My beautiful dog, seven year old Lucy, hates her visiting. Gigi bites Lucy’s ears and lips, shakes her precious teddy and all in all, brings mayhem into Lucy’s previously quiet life. But... I’m sorry Lucy I had to laugh. The so called presidential debate? Hmmm, did I laugh, or maybe cry? I’ll go with the latter. |
