Interesting reading to be sure. The title threw me off a bit, but then I got it. While I'm not 100% in agreement with you, I do believe that arrogance and religion can be bad influences. But where does that leave us to base our own concepts of right/wrong? This entry makes me want to think and study more about it. I thank you for your opinion and for writing it. Well worded.

A nicely written and sweet poem. It's amazing how fast the birthdays seem to come, even though they are 365 days apart...My oldest just turned 30, and my oldest grandson will be 5 in the spring (now how did THAT happen?). A light-hearted look at a birthday. Great form and no typos. Thank you for sharing this piece, and keep up the great job.

A moving tribute to those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Well done. It seemed to catch the American soldier in every war from the Revolutionary on. I enjoyed reading it. It was a bit sad, but I could hear the pride in the voice of the poem. Excellent Work!

Well written...I didn't read this before, but this version is definitely creepy and scary...LOL...just in time for Halloween! I liked the dialogue between the demons and then between Matt and the demons. I'm surprised that Matt wasn't scared of the demons at first, but I guess that's part of being a bully. Awesome reading. I could feel the sweat trickle down my back (lived in Mississippi - so know the sweltering heat). This is a sad, but realistic picture. I liked the varying points of view, and the tone set by each. The irritation and the desperation come alive in this story. And while we don't know the ending, it makes for great reading and speculation. Well written! Thank you for sharing this work. I see that this is an older work, and it gives me hope that I can write this well one day!

Do we ever really "move on"? Or is it that scar tissue builds up to help us cope? I cannot imagine loss as great as this, though I am sure I will eventually...If we live long enough that is. Thoughtful...As I go from scene to seen in your story, I picture it clearly. Attention to detail...loved it...a couple of questions: Do you mean college, rather than collage? also, in the last stanza, "You wre playing four square" I think you meant "were", and "bird cage vale"...is that veil you meant?
