THe basis of the dtory is ok. Jo is a strong character. The way this is written it jumps around so the reader has no clue what is going on. A rewrite is in order to make this stronger. Nice analogy of stinks like possum crap on a barbecue. I laughed when I read that one. I liked this piece it reminded me of some relatives of mine I dreaded having to see when I was younger.
