Yikes, this was a "chiller." `He`He

Didn't they make this into a Movie or T.V. Pilot or something a while back? Rates right up there with "The Hills Have Eyes" if you ask me. What are you doing next Halloween?

WOW, you should tell us of the great adventures you have had out in the great beyond! I wrote a poem about just that, some time back. I should look it up for you. I send it or post it, if and when I come accross it again. ~Dragon Ryder

This prose sparks of the time and energy you have spent on this. Nice flow. You kept the story moving right along and didn't hurry to finish. WRITE ON

A hike that is sure to please:

Trout Lily, often called Dog Toothed Violet is said to get its name from the speckled leaves, reminiscent of the speckled skin of a brown trout. It generally grows in groups of dozens to hundreds of plants. It's the leaves that are speckled, the flower is a delicate yellow.

• Family: Lily (Liliaceae)
• Habitat: rich woods
• Height: 4-10 inches
• Flower size: 1 inch wide
• Flower color: yellow, sometimes marked with brown
• Flowering time: March to May
• Origin: native

A yellow flower in lily family. :) ~DragonRyder

Review of The Wash

Not often that I review a work with a work of my own, but it is something I do from time to time when I come accross the same feelings evoked in me that the work I'm reading offers.

~ Death's Toll ~ In God's Name Why ~

Gaze upon his awful view,
Grace and some chivalry

Paused for this victory;

The field a slaughter yard,

A number too great to count,

The multitude of slain;

No end, not right, what gain?

Felt I was growing old,

What might should feel this cold?

Had valor won the way?

Dead scattered all about

Bitten by the devil's dog,

God's work was hard to read.

Knelt down and said a prayer,

That's it, as I was there. 18 January 2010 by DragonRyderWhiteWhirl

Well, there you have it. Your artistic voice took me to that place, that feeling that sneeks up and grabs you anyway ... not exactly cold, but haunting. Your story is wonderful capturing imagery so vivid that you feel like stepping into the page, onto the stage; just to look around and explore some more. Write On!

Behind the dancing and laughter turned silent; DEATH watched patiently, as always. His sovereignty (the result of vast victories) was symbolized by the skeleton cuff links of his black tuxedo and Spanish stelleto boots. He wore it like armor, like a scythe was comfortable in his hands.

I'll bet DEATH rides a well bridled horse and moves slowly accross the field flying a mystic rose. Odd, a mystic rose symbolizes Life. Hmmmm, in Death there is always a new beginning. Not so odd after all.

On the edge of the horizon the sun begins to shine bright. This must signal the end of the party?

Now to find Surrie.

I'd request an invitation. ~DragonRyder
