I loved how the author took a prompt and woven an amazing fantasy story. The dragon's attack causes major problems not only in little Mina's personal world but also for her village. One could almost taste the dispair. And for a moment there was the terror of the dragon's attack. But then the twist.
The rain comes as a saving grace. Very well written. It can make an amazing prologue to a larger story.

I found this short story thought provoking. The author pointed out the daily struggle to survive, the prejudice and struggles the homeless face every day.
Inspite of all of this Charley finds faith and that faith keeps him going. In this story we also faced with those that end up on the streets due to drug abuse in Mellot.

The friendship the author has for Zelda came through strongly in this piece. It made me laugh as as I could imagine her face and when she barked like a seal I nearly fell of my chair. It is well written and the obvious different meaning of a word between people brightened my day.

a well thought out first chapter for Hidden Magic. The author made the world Rosie, Amber and Amy find themselves in very believable. The author captured Rosie's misery with her first day at a new school and being in a new town brilliantly.
The story moved at a easy to follow pace and the author kept the reader's attebtion from the chapter and left me wanting to read on.
well written and enjoyable to read. The fantasy aspect of the story was well presented and came across as believable. I could feel the main character's anguish, guilt and shame. He did not just loose people he cared about but himself in the process.

I liked the way the author made use of dialoge to give the reader background information on the characters and how there was always an underlining sense of danger through the piece. The incident with Dick and the dog was both funny yet sad.
This could easily make a good opening to a larger story.

By making us aware of the emotional undercurrents among the characters you are building up expectation for a big fight.

I do think the way thje story started was well thought through and interesting. It had enough suspence to keep me reading. The author also put in enough information to make the characters alive and believable.
The end was also well written as it created in the reader the need to know what would happen next. Excellently done.
